The Northmarq Information Technology team is seeking a IT Business Analyst who will collaborate with business and technology representatives to define requirements for building new solutions, predominantly related to a centralized intelligence platform for data integration, dashboarding, and data governance - aligning with the company’s strategic technology plan.  The person in this role will act as Project Manager, driving the development and the successful implementation to production of platform integrations, API middleware, and executive dashboards, all aligning to the strategic technology plan. The ideal candidate would have experience with Snowflake, PowerBI, Commercial Real Estate and/or Commercial Real Estate Loan Origination.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Business Analysis
    • Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements to compose meaningful user stories
    • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business and technical teams
    • Produce process diagrams, wireframes, and other documents supporting development
    • Effectively communicate business process and technical information appropriately to intended audience
    • Present ideas / training to executive leadership, sales teams, and technical staff
    • Act as a liaison between the technical team, vendors, and the business
    • Facilitate and/or conduct testing and training, along with garnering feedback as necessary.
    • Drive project tasks to completion
    • Proactively seek out, evaluate and recommend industry-specific technology trends and best practices
    • Participate in core Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning and reviews
  • Data, Analytics & Intelligence Analysis
    • Work with stakeholders to prioritize data initiatives based on business value, ROI, and impact on customer experience. 
    • Partner with the Data Engineering team to ensure that the data platform supports additional business use cases derived from the consulting engagements. 
    • Design & develop dashboards, providing business leaders with updated, actionable information. 
    • Work with technology team to ensure that dashboards are user-friendly and easy to navigate. 
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to data management, analytics, business strategy, and dashboard design. 
    • Create new reports and dashboards to help increase the productivity/profitability
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in or equivalent education and experience in business analysis of software development
  • 3-5 years of related Business Analyst experience
  • Experience managing implementation of data platform products, including data acquisition implementations, dashboard rollouts, and API integrations.
  • Business Intelligence, API Management, or Technical Product experience would be a plus
  • Experience developing data management policies and procedures.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio
  • A moderate understanding of the SQL query language
  • Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate or Commercial Real Estate Loan Origination, preferred
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Delivers professional, accurate, and high-quality documentation
  • Deals with complex challenges both independently and with peers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Minnesota Residents: Northmarq carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The salary range for the IT Business Analyst position is $80,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually. This range is a good faith estimate and the actual compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
