- Review and coordinate documentation: Review loan applications and supporting documents; issue Outstanding Items Letters (OILs) and manage processing checklists.
- Internal and external communication: Participate in kick-off calls with the Production Manager and lead calls with the Northmarq Producer and Borrower to discuss transaction details, issues, and borrower structure.
- Site visits and inspections: Coordinate and conduct site visits with the Borrower, Producer, and consultants; inspect properties and evaluate systems, interiors, and market conditions.
- Analyze reports and costs: Review third-party reports (appraisals, assessments, environmental) and analyze utility costs that may impact loan sizing.
- Prepare and present underwriting documentation: Prepare detailed underwriting narratives summarizing the loan structure, transaction strengths and identified risks, and present final package to the Loan Committee.
- Post-approval support: Draft Commitment Letters, Trade Authorizations, and assist in final loan package delivery.
- Mentor and train: Guide and support Underwriting Analysts in developing their skills.
- Awareness and education: Keep apprised of shifts in the commercial real estate world including Agency credit parameters and requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience underwriting Fannie Mae multifamily CRE transactions.
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), experience with Adobe, Salesforce, and database applications is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Ability to travel for site inspections as required.
