This position provides strategic and operational leadership for a Transactions Underwriting Team within the Servicing Portfolio & Asset Management department. The Senior Manager is responsible for hiring, developing, and leading a team who will process complex multifamily real estate transactions, ensuring risk is appropriately assessed, and supporting the firm’s lending decisions. This position also plays a key role in shaping and delivering operational strategies, driving performance, and aligning team goals with company objectives. A strong industry presence and active participation in external events and networks are expected. As Northmarq evolves, additional responsibilities may be added to support company growth and scalability.

Essential Accountabilities:

Organization & Strategic Execution

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with company and servicing
  • Represent Portfolio & Asset Management in cross-functional projects and industry
  • Monitor key metrics and operational benchmarks to ensure effective execution and continuous
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and outcomes to strengthen the client and employee
  • Support the Director of Portfolio & Asset Management with departmental planning, communications, and strategic

Team & People Leadership

  • Oversee the preparation and review of detailed assumption/transfer of ownership underwriting packages, including financial modeling, market analysis, sponsor analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Ensure underwriting standards are consistently applied and updated in line with both internal and GSE
  • Collaborate with originators, underwriting, legal, and asset management teams to resolve complex
  • Present underwriting findings and recommendations to senior management and credit
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in underwriting
  • Stay current on multifamily market trends and regulatory developments impacting commercial real
  • Promote a culture of accountability, empowerment, and continuous
  • Lead succession planning efforts and ensure teams are positioned to support scale and
  • Participate in and lead performance reviews, development planning, and team-wide communication

Operational Excellence & Industry Presence

  • Actively engage with industry groups, peers, and clients to stay informed on trends and represent company
  • Maintain deep knowledge of commercial loan servicing, industry best practices, and client
  • Serve as an internal advisor on operational risk mitigation, client service standards, and systems
  • Collaborate with internal partners and external stakeholders to enhance the overall servicing
  • Contribute to procedural development and strategic planning initiatives to increase efficiency and

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics or a related field (MBA is a plus).
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in commercial real estate servicing, asset management, underwriting, or equivalent function.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate finance, valuation methodologies, and capital
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced
  • Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams through strategic initiatives and
  • Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and develop high-performing
  • Recognized for executive presence, strategic problem-solving, and delivering results through
  • Occasional overnight travel required
  • Attendance at company-related events or outings

Minnesota Residents: Northmarq carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The salary range for the Senior Manager - Commercial Loan Servicing position is $118,000.00 annually or [$56.76 per hour] to $160,000.00 annually [or $76.92 per hour]. This range is a good faith estimate and the actual compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
