Northmarq is seeking an experienced Capital Markets Analyst to support our national Capital Markets team in our Dallas or Atlanta office. This role is responsible for underwriting and analyzing loan opportunities in alignment with Capital Markets program guidelines, while partnering with both internal and external teams to support transactions through the full lifecycle — including loan packaging and submission, due diligence, closing, and related support functions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, can multitask under pressure, and manages stringent deadlines with a strong attention to detail and passion for commercial real estate.

*This position is an in-office position, with an immediate start date.

Position Responsibilities:

Underwriting & Screening - 

  • Manage front-end deal intake, review, and initial screening for Capital Markets programs to determine program fit, structure viability, and execution readiness.
  • Perform full deal underwriting for commercial real estate transactions, including analysis of historical financial statements, borrower projections, and market benchmarks to support valuation, loan sizing, and structure.
  • Evaluate deal risk and confirm alignment of structure and pricing with Capital Markets program parameters and Capital Partner requirements.
  • Prepare loan submissions and pricing materials that meet Capital Partner guidelines and requirements. Materials may include narrative deal summaries, detailed underwriting, structure and pricing assumptions, and supporting market data.
  • Coordinate soft and firm quote processes, including collecting, analyzing, and comparing Capital Partner feedback.

Deal Management -

  • Update and maintain the underwriting model throughout the deal process, incorporating current property‑level data and evolving deal terms.
  • Provide closing coordination, including collecting and reviewing due diligence, ordering and reviewing third-party reports, and reviewing lender documentation (term sheet, commitment, loan docs, etc.)
  • Maintain open communication with borrowers, lenders, legal counsels, third-party vendors, and internal servicing and insurance departments on an as-needed basis.

Client Service -

  • Serve as a primary point of communication with Capital Partners, including presenting deals, managing pipeline updates, navigating feedback, and coordinating approvals.
  • Serve as a primary point of communication with Northmarq Producers to clearly and consistently communicate program guidance, pricing, structure, and deal terms.
  • Own active Capital Markets pipeline management, including tracking deal status, partner feedback, key milestones, and execution readiness across all opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support and marketing efforts as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of direct experience in Commercial Real Estate Finance
  • Four-year college degree required with a major in real estate, finance, accounting, or business area preferred
  • Demonstrated experience underwriting all major commercial real estate asset types, including but not limited to multifamily, office, industrial, retail, hospitality, and mixed‑use properties.
  • Proficient tech knowledge and skills, including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.) Knowledge of Salesforce or ARGUS software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task while under pressure and an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Resourceful with a strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work extended hours when necessary
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments; able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
