Reports To: Executive Director
Location: Northpoint Nebraska (Adult inpatient in Omaha)
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-5pm with rotating on-call
Compensation: $85,000-115,000/year

POSITION SUMMARY: As a vital member of the Northpoint team, the Clinical Director will serve as a member of the inpatient leadership team and a trusted advisor on the quality execution of clinical and operational processes. This person will oversee that the facility provides ethical and effective substance use disorder and mental health counseling, interventions, and family services to patients. This person ensures staff compliance with national and state regulations, in-house policies, procedures, and clinical programming. The Clinical Director will participate in the hiring process and provide staff supervision, coaching and discipline, and training and oversight to ensure all staff are in compliance with all facility rules and policies. This person will oversee the counseling and clinical support teams, and will work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient care and treatment outcomes.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the inpatient program including treatment services, programming, and all key responsibilities required by state and federal guidelines
- Optimize clinical and operational processes while ensuring excellent patient care standards
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and other leadership to assist in meeting business and clinical objectives; support/maximize current business activities and provision of quality patient care
- Evaluate staff competency. Provide professional growth and development of staff and provide direction and support to the staff regarding attainment of short-term and long-term goals and objectives
- Audit charts for policy & procedure compliance, appropriate documentation, and completion of all internal paperwork/documents
- Identify at least one person to be responsible for clinical supervision duties, if not acting in this role
- Create, update, and review evidenced-based curriculum utilized in lecture and educational sessions for clients alongside the expanded clinical team
- Manage a small caseload and run groups as necessary
- Schedule and facilitate quarterly all staff meetings, monthly Rec Tech meetings, and counseling staff meetings at least twice weekly
- Create, provide, and research in-house clinical trainings to improve team skills
- Directly oversee client risk assessment needs and follow through
- Case staffing, individual case supervision, review of case record maintenance, treatment planning, facilitate individual and group therapy, discharge planning, and documentation standards
- Ensure staff knowledge and utilization of all written Northpoint guidelines, protocol, policies, and procedures
- Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving amongst clinical staff
- Delegate growth opportunities and tasks to clinical staff when necessary
- Review clinical documentation daily and provide signatures as needed
- Work closely, cooperatively, and amicably while maintaining professional boundaries with all staff and clients
- Monitor clinical, support, and admin staff organization and cover scheduling needs; organize holiday group coverage
- Oversee clinical correspondence; probation officers, outside counselors, doctors, court system, and all external needs for clinical communication
- Promote employee engagement to achieve a positive and productive workforce
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of care
- Other clinically appropriate services and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
- Master’s Degree in relevant field or commensurate experience required
- Must hold an active mental health licensure in the state where treatment services are rendered
- Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements at hire and for the entire duration of employment
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in mental health discipline required
- 2+ years in an administrative or leadership capacity required
- Ability to work with a diverse client population and possess strong interpersonal skills and knowledge required for treating clients assigned
- Must hold strong personal boundaries and able to build rapport with patients
- Must understand and adhere to the ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain internal and external relationships in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on execution and results
- Action-oriented with the ability to: adapt to change, work independently, prioritize tasks, and drive to finish
- Must have solid clinical judgment
- Experience with a growing company with multiple entities preferred
