In This Role
In this role, you will support hardware power and performance analysis through hands-on lab experimentation and data collection. You will assist engineering teams in running benchmarks, capturing thermal and performance metrics, and supporting silicon characterization activities that help optimize hardware systems. This position involves working closely with engineers to set up test environments, analyze performance data, and contribute to automation of benchmarking and measurement workflows. The role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of hardware systems who enjoys lab-based experimentation and data-driven engineering work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct lab-based experiments to measure hardware power, thermal behavior, and system performance.
- Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing performance and thermal data from hardware testing environments.
- Support silicon characterization activities for hardware platforms and components.
- Run benchmarking tests and document results to support ongoing hardware development efforts.
- Set up and maintain lab equipment used for power, thermal, and performance measurements.
- Assemble or modify hardware components and prototypes for testing and validation purposes.
- Assist engineers in building and testing working models or simulated hardware configurations.
- Monitor hardware system performance and identify anomalies or optimization opportunities.
- Support development of scripts or tools that automate benchmarking, data collection, and analysis processes.
- Document testing procedures, results, and observations to support engineering teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support ongoing hardware development initiatives.
- Ensure lab experiments follow established procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- 0–2 years of experience in hardware engineering, hardware testing, or lab-based experimentation.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware components such as processors, circuit boards, and electronic systems.
- Familiarity with hardware testing methodologies, performance benchmarking, or system analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, blueprints, and engineering diagrams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Basic knowledge of engineering tools, testing equipment, or design software used in hardware development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience conducting power or performance analysis in a lab environment.
- Exposure to thermal testing setups, noise testing environments, or hardware validation labs.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools used for benchmarking or data collection (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Familiarity with hardware characterization workflows or silicon validation processes.
- Experience working with test instrumentation used for performance or thermal measurements.
- Exposure to computer architecture concepts or system-level hardware optimization.
- Experience documenting experimental procedures and engineering test results.
Salary Range
At Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market. For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is $31.25 to $34.62 USD/Hourly. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The final salary and job title may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications and could fall outside the stated range.
