Sales Strategy & Operations Manager

San Francisco, California; New York, New York;

About Us:

We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.

We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like Pixar, Mitsubishi, Figma, Plaid, Match Group, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.

Notion is an in person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).

About The Role:

As a Sales Strategy & Operations Manager, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our go-to-market strategy and driving data-informed decision-making across our sales organization. This position sits at the intersection of sales, strategy, and analytics, offering the opportunity to significantly impact Notion's growth trajectory. You'll work closely with sales leadership and cross-functional teams to optimize processes, deliver actionable insights, and support key strategic initiatives. You will report directly to the Head of Sales Strategy & Operations.

We are looking for someone who is a first-principles thinker, has strong analytical skills, and is effective at building cross-functional partnerships. You should be excited to dive into analyses, modeling and process improvement — as well as have a high sense of ownership, track record of building from scratch and ability to communicate across levels and audiences to get things done.

What You'll Achieve:

  • Strategic Partnership & Global Influence: Develop analyses that help design, set and measure strategy for the global Sales organization. Present optionality to leadership to inform the right big bets for annual and in-year plans. Lead through influence across GTM Leadership, BizTech, Data, Finance and more to deliver results.
  • Operating Cadence: Develop and drive key sales operating rhythms, including monthly and quarterly business reviews, forecasting and pipeline inspection. Drive annual GTM planning, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market dynamics.
  • Operations Strategy: Think from first principles as to how Notion’s revenue teams should be organized, designed and managed. Help us set the target operating state, set work back plans to achieve the target and be a hands own driver and owner of the path there. Help us design the big picture, but roll up your sleeves to get into the detail.
  • Actionable Performance Visibility: Build KPI reviews that identify risks and trends, enabling data-driven decisions across all levels. Design and implement comprehensive sales performance dashboards that provide clear visibility into our operations. Generate insights about performance and drivers to guide critical decisions. Partner with RevOps, GTM Leads and BizTech to establish robust global operating processes.
  • Data, Process & Tooling: Design and maintain core processes, e.g. target setting, forecasting, and performance driver analyses. Partner with Data and BizTech to streamline team operations while providing leadership with comprehensive insights — leveraging tools such as, Salesforce, Common Room, Gong, Tableau and Hex.

Skills You'll Need to Bring:

  • 1-3 years working in sales operations, strategy, or analytics roles, preferably in a high-growth SaaS environment
  • 1-3 years in management consulting, hedge fund investing or equivalent role
  • Strong analytical skills -- can model any operational question full cycle (develop assumptions and output)
  • Proficiency with core sales tools (e.g. Salesforce, Gong, Outreach, etc.)
  • High EQ -- works well with stakeholders, gains trust, enjoys working with people
  • Senior presence -- can convey complex information to executives clearly and concisely; can resolve tradeoffs. Effective communicator across levels and audiences
  • First principles problem solver -- dimensionalizes problems, demonstrates history of lateral thinking
  • Hands on -- extensive experience and interest in building from scratch
  • Ownership -- high ownership mentality demonstrated by developing projects of >6-12 months length
  • Notion power user or desire to learn -- prior Notion experience is not required, but you have the ability and desire to become a pro
  • You thrive in ambiguity, love the big picture, but are eager to build from scratch and continuously improve processes

Nice to Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or other quantitative field
  • Experience with statistical methods, SQL, Tableau, Python and/or other advanced analytics and BI/Dashboarding
  • Experience using Notion
  • History of promotions or progressive responsibilities at work

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
