Server Engineer

Nova 401(k) Associates (www.nova401k.com) is headquartered in Houston, TX, and we also have an office in Scottsdale, AZ. We provide consulting and pension administration services for 401(k) Plans and Defined Benefit Plans.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain Virtualized and Physical server infrastructure
- Responsible for all functions relating to maintaining, configuration, and operation of our Remote Application Services, internal technology infrastructure, and SaaS services
- Install, configure, and support client applications and components in RDS and Physical installations under the corporate IT model of support
- Maintain backup and anti-virus services company-wide
- Troubleshoot and repair server-related issues
- Troubleshoot and repair multi-tiered application errors
- Process assigned help desk tickets in the Help Desk ticketing system
- System licensing monitoring (Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Procedure and process documentation
- Provide 24/7 production support on a rotating basis
- Communication with 3rd party vendors
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent education (examples include GED and partial or full completion of post-secondary education, etc.)
- 4+ years of Systems Administrator experience
- Microsoft Server
- Vast experience with Microsoft Group Policies and Active Directory
- Experience with Windows 2019 Server
- Active Directory design, management, and maintenance
- Windows PowerShell and other scripting methods
- DNS, DHCP, RDS, Published Applications, Certificate Services
- Experience implementing Hyper-V Virtual machines on a failover cluster
- Three (3) years of recent hands-on experience with virtualization platforms – experience with Hyper-V is a must!
- Storage solutions: Dell Compellent Storage, SAN, Shared storage, ISCSI, Fiber Channel
- Ability to work independently/self-reliant and show initiative with minimum supervision
- Ability to quickly learn new technology and apply it appropriately to business situations
- Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities
- Ability to work under pressure; meet strict time deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to listen effectively and seek clarification
- Strong project management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary $115,000 - $125,000
- Salaried, non-exempt

Work Location/Hours:
- Hybrid schedule after the first month
- Must be in Houston, TX, and be authorized to work for any US employer
- 40-hour work week with the ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs
- Start time between 7:30am and 8:30am
