Who Are You?

Are you passionate about building meaningful digital products that solve hard problems and delight users? Do you believe in the power of learning to transform careers and companies? Are you interested in working with a talented, mission-driven team?

More importantly, do you thrive with ownership and autonomy? As a small, agile team, we’re looking for a Senior UX Designer who can independently lead design initiatives from exploration through implementation. Design is one of NovoEd's key differentiators. You’ll partner with a cross-functional team that values craft, collaboration, and outcomes. If you're excited by user-centered design, fast iteration, and having a strategic seat at the table, we’d love to talk.

What Will You Do?

  • Design scalable, collaborative, and social online learning experiences used by Fortune 500 companies, universities, and training organizations
  • Own 1-2 major projects at any time, serving as the design lead who shapes solutions from initial problem exploration through final implementation
  • Partner closely with the product management team to frame problems, define project scope, explore multiple design approaches, and make well-reasoned recommendations
  • Provide production-ready mocks and assets, and work closely with engineers to balance quality and feasibility
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and understand user goals
  • When challenges arise, proactively align stakeholders, propose solutions, and adjust scope as needed
  • Help shape the future of our product by contributing to product strategy and roadmap discussions

What Skills Are Needed For This Role?

Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience designing products that have been used by end users and clients at scale
  • Proven track record of solving complex real-world problems with strategic thinking and elegant, user-centered solutions
  • Proficiency with the full design toolkit: wireframing, user flows, high-fidelity mocks, prototyping, user interviews, and usability testing
  • Expert-level skills with design tools like Figma, including advanced features like components and design libraries
  • Experience maintaining visual and interaction consistency by working within established design systems and contributing to their evolution
  • Strong visual design foundation with attention to detail and pixel-perfect execution
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design principles
  • Experience designing responsive Web/Mobile experiences
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS and development constraints
  • Experience designing AI-powered features that enhance user workflows and personalize experiences is a plus
  • Familiarity with GenAI tools to accelerate workflows is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

Independent ownership: You can take projects from problem definition through execution, managing stakeholder relationships and driving decisions without constant guidance. You're comfortable navigating ambiguity during early exploration phases and can synthesize unclear requirements into actionable design directions

Collaborative leadership: You excel at building productive relationships with cross-functional partners of varying experience levels, from PMs to engineers

Strategic communication: You present complex ideas clearly, anticipate concerns, and lead productive discussions that result in actionable outcomes

Adaptive problem-solving: You stay focused on core problems while remaining flexible when new information or priorities emerge

User-centered intuition: You balance data-driven decisions with cognitive empathy, making confident design choices even when complete research isn't available

Why Will You Love NovoEd?

  • A collaborative work environment
  • Fun remote collaborative events, such as virtual interactive classes, happy hours, and more!
  • Company-sponsored Professional Development
  • Paid parental leave for parents

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
