About Noyo

The benefits ecosystem is foundational to the health and financial security of millions, yet the technology that powers it is often fragmented, complex, and decades old. This creates massive inefficiencies for the insurance companies, brokerages, and software providers who manage this critical part of our economy.

At Noyo, we are building the modern infrastructure for a new era of benefits. We provide the AI-powered tools and software infrastructure that allow our partners—from legacy insurance carriers to the newest ben-admin startups—to modernize their businesses, operate with speed, and offer seamless experiences to their customers. If you are passionate about using technology to solve complex, real-world problems with massive impact, Noyo is the place for you.

At Noyo, we believe the best ideas shine through when we’re together. Headquartered in San Francisco, we balance the energy of in-person collaboration with the flexibility to support work-life integration. Our required in-office days are Tuesday and Wednesday, creating opportunities to connect and make magic for our users as a team. While we prioritize in-person collaboration, we’re open to remote candidates for the right match.

About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Noyo, you are the single-threaded owner of our customer implementations. This is a business-critical role that blends deep technical expertise with strategic project leadership. This is not a traditional sales or implementation role. You are an engineer and trusted technical advisor who embeds deeply with our customers to ensure their success.

You will own our customers’ implementation journey with Noyo from initial proof-of-concept to full-scale implementation and beyond. You will write code, architect solutions, re-engineer workflows, and provide the high-touch guidance that makes our customers feel like true partners. Success in this role means transforming our customers' operations and funneling your frontline insights back to our product team to shape the future of our platform.

This role sits within our Solutions team and works in close daily collaboration with our product & engineering teams. You will be a core part of the customer-facing organization while maintaining deep ties to the teams building our platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the implementation, end-to-end. You will take full ownership of new customer deployments, acting as the primary point of contact and project leader from kickoff to completion and being responsible for the timeline, execution, and ultimate success of the integration. You will lead technical workshops, manage project milestones, identify risks, and ensure all stakeholders (internal and external) are aligned and informed.
  • Guide customer engineering teams. You will serve as the dedicated technical expert for our customers' engineers, guiding them through the integration with Noyo’s APIs, helping them design a robust integration plan, and defining a comprehensive testing strategy.
  • Architect and consult on solutions. You will lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer needs, and then architect the optimal solution using Noyo's platform and configuring our systems and AI tools to meet their specific business requirements.
  • Train and equip our customers for success. You will ensure customers know how to use our product effectively by leading training sessions that empower their teams and get them excited about the new capabilities at their fingertips.
  • Innovate and build: Channel your on-the-ground learnings to improve our platform. You'll identify opportunities to build new SDKs, developer tools, and technical documentation that make implementation easier for everyone.
  • Innovate and build. You will use your frontline experience to improve the implementation experience specifically and our product more generally. Not only will you identify opportunities to build new SDKs, you might prototype them yourself. You won’t just notice that the docs could be improved, you’ll make the changes yourself. You’ll collaborate with the product & engineering team on new feature ideas that come directly from the customer-facing work you do every day.
  • Solve and configure: Partner with insurance brokerage operations teams to deeply understand their day-to-day workflows, then design and configure our AI agents and software tools to solve their biggest pain points and unlock new efficiencies. This might include leading or participating in executing proofs-of-concept (POCs) that deliver quantifiable business value and build the case for long-term, strategic partnership.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong software engineering background: A strong software engineering background. You have a deep understanding of how modern software is built and are comfortable reading and discussing code (e.g., in Python, Java, or similar), designing system integrations, and working with APIs, giving you the technical credibility to be a trusted advisor to other engineers.
  • Proven experience building with AI: You've built solutions that go beyond simply prompting consumer tools like ChatGPT. You can point to projects where you've used AI/ML frameworks or APIs to build a functional prototype or solve a real business problem.
  • An insatiable curiosity and a self-starter attitude: You are driven to understand how things work—from a customer's business process to a new technology. You have a history of tackling projects on your own initiative because you saw a problem that needed solving.
  • Exceptional, empathetic communication skills: You can effortlessly translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and build trust with everyone from an operations analyst to a CTO. You are skilled at uncovering the core of a customer's pain and provide clear, confident guidance.
  • A product-driven mindset: You don't just solve the problem in front of you; you think about how to solve it for an entire class of users. You can instinctively translate a one-off customer request into a potential feature and can articulate its value.
  • Experience managing complex projects: You know how to take an ambiguous goal, create a plan, manage stakeholders, communicate progress, and drive a project across the finish line, even when faced with unexpected roadblocks.

Why Noyo

  • Massive impact: The work you do here will directly impact the efficiency of a trillion-dollar industry and help millions of people access their benefits with less friction.
  • Unmatched autonomy: You will have significant ownership over your projects and the trajectory of our most important customer relationships.
  • A culture of building: We are a team of passionate engineers, product managers, and industry experts who value curiosity, collaboration, and getting things done.
  • Competitive compensation & benefits: We offer a competitive salary, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package because we believe in taking care of our own.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
