Senior DevSecOps Engineer

As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will have the opportunity to join the DevSecOps practice at NT Concepts that offers a balanced blend of IR&D and customer missions. You will continuously research, build, and support enhancements to the DevSecOps processes and practices besides supporting mission-focused programs with innovative and novel solutions for our DoD and IC customers.

We follow lean agile practices, embrace the Ops (DataOps/DevSecOps/MLOps) to “automate-first”, use modern tech stacks, and constantly challenge each other to grow and improve.    

Mission Focus: Technical members of our solutions teams love to learn, collaborate, and problem-solve. NT Concepts seeks a Senior DevSecOps Engineer who has prior experience supporting, or a strong desire to work with tools in a continuous integration pipeline to automate and/or scale deployment of capabilities across a variety of environments such as cloud, on-prem, or hybrid. This person will work with DevSecOps Engineers to create automation and IaC scripts and templates to build cloud-based development and deployment patterns for software engineers. Additionally, the Senior DevSecOps Engineer will work with highly talented delivery teams to provide guidance on software and system optimization, helping to remove potential performance bottlenecks related to development and deployment. 

Clearance: Active Secret (preferred) clearance with ability to obtain up to a TS/SCI. US Citizenship is required.

Location/Flexibility: Vienna, VA

 Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively in a cross-functional agile delivery team to build and deploy complex next generation applications in air-gapped and disconnected environments that are on-prem, cloud, or hybrid
  • Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in multiple development environments at various security levels
  • Managing and maintaining a Linux-based application infrastructure
  • Maintaining and deploying Kubernetes clusters
  • Applying application-level security scans to analyze results leveraging tools such as SonarQube
  • Advancing and continually improving our DevSecOps practices with IR&D projects to foster a security-first culture
  • Collaborating with other staff members to implement and advance our DevSecOps best practices
  • Researching to design cost-efficient and optimal solutions for application and infrastructure deployments in cloud environments across the organization

Qualifications

  • Clearance: Active Secret (preferred) clearance, with ability to obtain up to a TS/SCI Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required)
  • 10+ years of experience in DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automation management with tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitLab, KeyCloak, Git, and ArgoCD.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical experience.
  • Experience with Python, Bash, and/or other scripting languages.
  • Strong demonstrated experience in one of the major cloud providers like AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.
  • Proficient in Linux OS administration.
  • Demonstrated experience with build, release, and configuration management in a CI/CD environment with GitFlow.
  • Experience in configuring, managing, and deploying applications and infrastructure that involve integrating COTS, GOTS, and Open-Source components.
  • Desire to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others, and get stuff done in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to learn and continue to expand your DevOps education with a focus on security and compliance.
  • Ability to stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
  • Set up, manage and maintain security monitoring tools, processes and technologies.
  • Train and guide team members on cloud security and optimization best practices.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimum guidance to provide optimal solutions.
  • Clear communication skills are critical.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) in a secure environment
  • Associate or Professional certifications with AWS or GCP
  • Experience in configuring and administering systems in air-gapped environments
  • Demonstrated experience with managing and deploying a Kubernetes cluster
  • Experience with cloud provisioning software such as Ansible
  • Experience with creation, deployment, and management of Jenkins pipelines
  • Experience with Single-Sign On via open-source software such as Keycloak
  • Experience with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing tools
  • Knowledge of RBAC and Zero Trust principles
  • Familiarity and use of microservices architecture and automation of serverless components.
  • Security+ Certification
  • Knowledge of security compliance standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CMMC).

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds at times.
