Mission Focus: NT Concepts is seeking a Database Developer to support the DoD enterprise Military Housing system. This complex system of 34 web-based modules is used by over 10,000 active users to meet the housing needs of over 2.5 million service members, DoD civilians, and their families.

Job Description: We are seeking a Database Developer with strong experience in PL/SQL to help us maintain and enhance multiple customer databases. In this role, your primary focus will be designing, developing, and optimizing PL/SQL-based database solutions while ensuring data accessibility, integrity, and performance.  You will collaborate closely with application teams, troubleshoot complex database issues, and implement improvements to existing Oracle database procedures and modules. 

 

Clearance: Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.

Location/Flexibility: Vienna, VA with remote flexibility

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views to support enterprise applications.
  • Analyze and enhance existing database modules, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with project requirements.
  • Respond to and resolve customer questions or issues related to Oracle databases, focusing on PL/SQL-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration between Oracle database operations and application requirements.
  • Perform database tuning and optimization to enhance query performance.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for database components, processes, and updates.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field (IT, Information Security, Database Administration) with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant professional experience supporting database development
  • Certification: CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Working knowledge and experience with Oracle DB, PL/SQL, and SQL
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing Oracle packages, procedures, triggers, indexes, and functions.
  • Understanding of Oracle database design, theories, and data retrieval procedures adopted by applications
  • Experience with query tools such as Toad or SQL Developer
  • Working knowledge and experience with Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration
  • Understanding of database security best practices
  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts and tools
  • Highly self-motivated with the capability to independently analyze codebases and perform in-depth research with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to different teams and changing priorities and requirements
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
  • Understanding of Agile software development
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and rigorous attention to detail while fostering open communication and collaborative teamwork

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Java, C#, or Python
  • Experience with Linux, Shell Scripting
  • Oracle Certified Associate (OCA)

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times.

The pay range listed for this position reflects the wage or salary range NT Concepts expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. The compensation offered to a successful candidate within this range will be based on legitimate, job-related factors, including (but not limited to) the candidate's work location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

 

Virginia Pay Range

$120,336 - $180,504 USD
