NTT Data seeks high-achieving team players who quickly adapt to new challenges and entrepreneurial ventures. We are looking for a Storage and Backup Senior Admin to work with our global client in Rochester, NY. This role will require a hybrid presence at our client site, 3 days on site at least, fully onsite is preferred.

Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Storage and Backup Senior Admin to join our team in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will report to the Storage and Backup Team Leader and assist with troubleshooting, implementing best practices, and providing operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Report to the Storage and Backup Team Leader.
  2. Assist with troubleshooting efforts in the storage and backup area.
  3. Implement remediation recommendations and apply best practices.
  4. Assist in the preparation of technical infrastructure documentation.
  5. Provide operational support to implement maintenance tasks associated with all areas described in section 10.
  6. Supervise and, in some instances, perform software installation tasks to assist project delivery, typically in conjunction with application vendors.
  7. Perform capacity planning as part of the technical platform role.
  8. Provide technical input to architectural planning, utilizing relevant expertise to ensure that architectural plans and budgets reflect the activities and investment required to move from the current state to the desired state.
  9. Review Technical Infrastructure Design for storage and backup systems, assessing and proposing improvements.
  10. Perform technical assessments/reviews between different infrastructure options as part of platform upgrade and refresh activities.

Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge in hardware platforms, including:
    • IBM SVC
    • IBM, NETAPP, and EMC Storage Arrays
    • EMC Data Domain
  2. Familiarity with systems management platforms, including:
    • Commvault Backup
    • IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
    • HP ArcSight
    • DR Orchestrator
    • Enterprise Vault
  3. Proven experience in leading teams and delivering these types of activities for at least 5 years (7+ years preferred).
  4. Strong troubleshooting skills in storage and backup issues.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Familiarity with ticketing tools.
  7. Proven leadership abilities with a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience related to storage and backup support.
