About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Mobile Developer (Android Tech Lead) to join our team supporting a global banking client. This is a remote position based in Mexico. The ideal candidate will have 6–7 years of experience in Android development, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality mobile solutions. You will lead a team of developers, manage technical requirements, and ensure the successful delivery of mobile features and applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications and development plans.
• Guide and mentor a team of mobile developers, assigning tasks, conducting code reviews, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, QA, product managers, and backend engineers.
• Analyze and resolve production incidents, providing technical leadership in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Drive the adoption of clean architecture principles (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture) and modern development practices.
• Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools, SDKs, and frameworks to improve development efficiency and app performance.

Required Skills

• 6–7 years of hands-on experience in Android development using Kotlin and Java.
• Proven experience leading development teams and managing technical deliverables.
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns, native SDKs, and UI frameworks.
• Experience handling production issues and implementing robust solutions.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and unit testing frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead and collaborate in distributed teams.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish (bilingual required).
• Eagerness to stay current with mobile trends and continuously improve team practices.
