Position Title: SharePoint Online Engineer

Duty Station: Remote in LATAM

6 month contract with likelihood of extensions

Overview

The organization uses Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online as key platforms for collaboration, content management, and process automation. To enhance these services and ensure scalable, reliable digital solutions, the organization seeks a qualified SharePoint Online Engineer. This role will lead the technical design, configuration, and development of advanced SharePoint solutions, with particular emphasis on Nintex workflows and forms, ensuring that business processes are automated and optimized effectively.

The purpose of this assignment is to engineer, configure, and implement robust SharePoint Online solutions that support organizational objectives. The SharePoint Online Engineer will design and build process automations, develop custom components, and ensure the platform is optimized for performance, governance, and user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scalable SharePoint Online solutions tailored to business requirements.
  • Design and implement automated workflows using Nintex Workflows and Nintex Forms and/or ServiceNow flows.
  • Integrate SharePoint with Microsoft 365 and other enterprise systems.
  • Ensure SharePoint Online solutions comply with governance, security, and performance standards.
  • Provide advanced technical support and knowledge transfer to IT and business users.

The SharePoint Online Engineer will perform the following tasks and responsibilities:

  1. 1. SharePoint Online Solution Engineering
  • Design, configure, and deploy SharePoint Online solutions (sites, libraries, lists, metadata, and permissions).
  • Develop custom components and configurations to extend SharePoint functionality.
  • Implement best practices for scalability, structure, and usability.
  • Support SharePoint integrations with Microsoft Teams, Power Platform, and external systems.
  1. 2. Workflow and Forms Development
  • Design, build, and optimize Nintex/ServiceNow Workflows and Forms to automate business processes.
  • Ensure that workflows are efficient, documented, and aligned with governance policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into automated solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, enhance, and maintain existing Nintex workflows and forms.
  1. 3. Governance and Security
  • Implement and enforce SharePoint Online governance frameworks, including permissions, compliance, and retention policies.
  • Monitor and manage access controls and security settings.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify risks and recommend mitigations.
  1. 4. Support, Training, and Documentation
  • Provide third-level support for complex SharePoint and Nintex-related issues.
  • Document technical configurations, workflows, and solution architectures.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to administrators and business users.
  • Develop and deliver user training sessions and knowledge base materials.

Deliverables:

  • Fully functional and optimized SharePoint Online solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Documented and operational Nintex / ServiceNow workflows and forms that streamline key business processes.
  • Comprehensive governance documentation and system configuration records.
  • User training materials and knowledge transfer reports.
  • Monthly technical reports highlighting key achievements, incidents, and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in SharePoint Online design and development.
  • Proven experience with Nintex Workflows and Forms (development, optimization, and troubleshooting).
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, content types, metadata, and permissions.
  • Experience integrating SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and familiarity with REST APIs.
  • Solid grasp of SharePoint governance, compliance, and security.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI).
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
  • Familiarity with Azure Logic Apps and cloud integration tools.
