Research Technician - Technical Operations Team
NTx is a bioinformatics and biomanufacturing company that advances medical products and material sciences with cell-free, innovative biomanufacturing solutions. The company is commercializing its biomanufacturing systems NTxpress®, NTxscribe® and the bioinformatics platform, DruID®, for the discovery of natural products. NTx’s proprietary continuous-flow, fully recombinant, in vitro, cell-free transcription/translation system utilizes hollow fiber bioreactors to support the growing demand for protein-based vaccines and biologics. Location/Team Information
Nature’s Toolbox (NTx) in Rio Rancho, NM, is expanding its Technical Operations (Tech Ops) team to support RNA manufacturing on the NTxscribe platforms to produce mRNA, saRNA. We want to rethink how therapeutics are manufactured and replace the status quo.
Your Impact
The Research Technician (Tech Ops) will be responsible for supporting projects related to the NTxscribe RNA manufacturing platform. The candidate will be involved in manufacturing RUO RNA products for external partners and contribute to internal and external tech transfers. The candidate will be expected to work closely across various teams at NTx. The position is of high importance to the company and your knowledge and scientific work can shape the future of NTx.
Your Responsibilities
Develop and manufacture RNA based products using the NTxscribe platform
Develop, optimize, and validate methods for RNA based products using the NTxscribe® platform
Maintain proper documentation of all experimental procedures and results, including batch records, protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other manufacturing related documentation
Coordinate with other teams to reach company goals by discussing and evaluating results
Work proactively to find opportunities for continuous improvement in protocols and procedures to boost projects
Help maintaining laboratory equipment following applicable guidelines (SOP, GLP, safety)
Record, organize and document data using the provided ELN
Provide training for other team members to ensure redundancy in assay coverage
Communicate successfully across teams and present important results to members and management
Your Education
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or closely related field
Your Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
Minimum of 2 years working in a laboratory environment required
Knowledge of RNA and DNA chemistry and biology and standard analysis methods relevant to these molecules
Understand the fundamentals of working with RNA and/or DNA
Experience with biochemical assay testing, development, and troubleshooting
Experience in cGxP environment, working knowledge of regulatory expectations for biologics pharmaceutical lifecycle development
Experience with internal and external technology transfers
Broad knowledge of standard laboratory assays and basic lab equipment
Comfortable with a fast-paced setting and leading/supporting multiple projects at the same time
Proficient at MS Office and ELN to write reports, document results and implement standard procedures
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with good attention to detail
