Material Handler
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Materials Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse and production areas. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Your Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials for accuracy and damages.
- Properly store materials in designated areas and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production areas as needed.
- Pull parts and materials for manufacturing based on production schedules and work orders.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently (if certified).
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Ensure materials are handled and transported according to safety guidelines.
- Keep warehouse and storage areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous materials handling or warehouse experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking (preferred).
- Forklift certification (if applicable) is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime, as needed.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- The working environment is generally favorable and comprises a warehouse, laboratory and office environment.
- Lighting, temperature, and noise levels are adequate.
- Personal Protective Equipment is required where stated. This includes a lab coat, hair/beard net, safety glasses, gloves and safety shoes.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk to the different lab areas.
- The employee is regularly required to lift and move up to 40 lbs. of materials or equipment.
- Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles and chemicals.
