About the Position

The Senior Network Engineer will work along the  Global IT Engineering team, working with infrastructure and support engineers, among others. Working in different Connectivity projects,  and end-to-end accountability for the lifecycle of connectivity infrastructure of the Nubank products, i.e. Architecture & Engineering, Delivery and Support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design customized solutions as required to support Business objectives, wherever applicable.
  • Execute High Level Design and Low Level Design for Products connectivity solutions.
  • Assist in development of networking architecture and Global standards including hardware/software, protocol, transport and topology standards.
  • Design, build and improve peripheral network infrastructure and platform through the execution of projects and changes based on standards and reaching all quality, time, cost, scope, availability and reliability parameters.
  • Support the enterprise network infrastructure, including troubleshooting incidents in a timely manner, handle network changes, participate in problem management processes including root cause analysis and configuration management.
  • Provide reliable and stable infrastructure via best practices, standards, simplified support models, automated processes, operational excellence and outstanding customer satisfaction
  • Effective monitoring,  implement a robust control and delivery of solutions services to identify issues proactively within the agreed SLAs using different methodologies, tools and  processes.
  • Configuration, maintenance and support of network solutions for Nubank´s products, including Data Centers and 3rd Parties. 
  • Configuration and maintenance on network equipment multivendor and platform technologies Juniper, Cisco, F5, Fortinet, AWS, Palo Alto, and Infoblox.
  • Willingness to produce documentation and written deliverables.


We are looking for a person who has
The following are considered a must:

  • Strong working knowledge in L2 (Switching) protocols. STP, VLAN,  LACP, Stacking, Bundle ethernet, Port security
  • Strong working knowledge in Layer 3 (Routing) protocols. OSPF, IS-IS, BGP (iBGP, eBGP), IPv6, VXLAN.
  • Ability to implement protocols and solutions to give  Fast Convergence, Redundancy and high availability such HSRP, VRRP, VRF
  • Solid experience configuring and implementing filtering secure protocols ACL, Prefix-list, Route-map, PBR, GRE, IPSEC, TLS/EAP, VPN, DMVPN
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in WAN network environment. MPLS, L3VPN, L2VPN, MP-BGP, EVC, SD-WAN, Carrier Ethernet,
  • Ability to implement network protocol services such TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, HTTPS, SCP, FTP, SNMP, AAA, NAT, Multicast and VoIP.
  • Knowledge of the principles of operation and configuration Data Center Spine-and-Leaf Architecture.
  • Progressive knowledge/experience managing projects of increasing size and complexity including the utilization of project planning and project dashboard tools.
  • Load-balancing (F5 Big-IP LTM/GTM) design experience and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing Fortigate and PaloAlto Next Generation firewalls.
  • Functional knowledge of network management/observability tools like Panorama, Prometheus/Grafana, SolarWinds, Cisco ThousandEyes, etc.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure Governance fundamentals, such as Capacity Planning, Risk & Vulnerability Management, Incident & Change management.

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with developing and deploying Cluster Datacenter, Cloud HW and infrastructure.
  • Scripting or programming experience using Bash, Perl, Python and automation tools such Ansible, Docket, Kubernetes
  • Having active certifications in technologies such CCNA/CCNP  CISCO, FORTINET, ARUBA, AWS, Juniper, HCA HCP Huawei, Palo Alto
  • Hands-on experience in Mexico Financial Services Network and some of its main products, SPEI, DIMO.
  • Function hands on experience of Cloud networking principals in AWS
  • Experience in Project, Incident and documentation management using Atlassian Suíte (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience with key network security protocols, such as IDS/IPS, URL Filtering and SIEM.

  • Communication proficiency in facilitating clear and consistent understanding across time zones and language boundaries.

Our Nu Way of Working

Our work model is hybrid and has cycles that can be from two to three months according to the business of ​​expertise. For every eight or twelve weeks of remote work, one will be at the office.
