Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Macro-economical and markets intel: monitor economic and market developments, design and coordinate data platforms to support models, provide government forums with relevant information for decision making and make strategy proposals.
- Manage the liquidity position including designing and executing the funding strategies and managing/maintaining an adequate liquidity buffer, complying with the regulations and internal policies optimizing its cost and capital consumption.
- Relationships with counterparties: Treasury/ALM is the single face of Nubank to the market so it is responsible for managing the relationships with counterparties, coordinating opening accounts to operate, and complying with KYC policies.
- Debt and Capital Markets Issuances: coordinate with internal teams and external parties if required, to execute issuances of debt or capital instruments in local or international markets.
- Develop or work with Corporate to implement new investment and funding sources: structured products, syndicated loans, …
- Execute approved strategies: structuring, negotiating conditions and pricing of ALM strategies.
- Managing the ALM portfolios and strategies, optimizing the risk-return in utilization of the cash and securities balance sheet within an appropriate prudential framework and risk appetite.
- Maintain policies, procedures, controls in place and attend internal and external audit teams. This includes participating in the development and fire drills of contingency plans (Liquidity, Business Continuity, …).
- Development and creation of reports and models that allow adequate monitoring of the different indicators that impact the Treasury/ALM including FTP.
- Ensure the execution of the ALM framework defined by the ALCO Committee and report any inconsistency if any.

Core Competencies: Experience working in the treasury and markets desk of a bank.Overall knowledge of a bank’s integrated balance sheet management and overview.
- Understands Liquidity Metrics (as LCR, NSFR and min cash policies) and regulatory capital requirements rules.
- Understands and guarantees the correct risk monitoring and measurement framework including market, liquidity, credit, regulatory and operational risks. Strong risk awareness translated into the ability to anticipate and prevent disaster events in your daily activities.
AMIB certificate as an operator and FI expert. Desirable or willing to become certified in a very short time.Manages high volume and complex data, building reliable analysis and financial insights, understanding financial implications of business decisions in order to support/enable Nubank's sustainability. Strong questioning style and inquisitive.
Job Skills and knowledge:
Essential:
- Experience of +5 years in Mexico treasury and local capital markets.
- Understanding of traded cash and derivatives instruments.
- Ability to manipulate data in Excel, Sheets, VBA, to run and analyze either financial models or construct reports and KPI's
- Demonstrates clear, didactic and concise oral and written ability regarding financial concepts, reports and systems with multiple audiences.
- Demonstrates ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of the business as well as external opportunities and threats.
- Be diligent. Cares about the business and Nubank understanding and connecting with Nubank's big picture. Proactive nature.
- Be Resilient in responding to stressful situations that are not going well including resolving conflicts in a transparent and constructive manner.
- Finance, Engineer, Science or Economics Degree
- Fluent English
Desirable: (Optional)
- Advanced knowledge in Python and SQL, Looker, Data Bricks, Anaplan (...).
- Experience of operating in a matrix organization with functional reporting lines.

*Interviewing and onboarding are currently done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team and our current staff will remain working from home until it is safe to return to our offices. When it’s time, we will require a fixed cadence of visiting the office in which employees go to their Business Unit's (BU) base location. Employees will have an employment contract based on the cities that Nu’s offices are located, considering their country of hire. More details can be shared during your hiring process.
