About the Role

The Corporate Planning Lead is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and enhancing the planning processes across our diverse financial technology organization. This position is critical in enabling the company to streamline operations, coordinate activities across multiple departments, and deliver a robust planning framework that aligns with its strategic objectives.

As a Corporate Planning Lead, you'll be expected to: 

  • Lead overarching corporate planning activities encompassing strategic operations across multiple countries (country-specific regulations and market conditions) and coordinate planning efforts across a diverse range of business products.
  • Manage departmental planning initiatives, focusing on aligning resources and timelines to meet short—and long-term business objectives.
  • Oversee the integration of new technologies and platforms that enhance planning capabilities, ensuring scalability and adaptability to changing market landscapes.
  • Collaborate with senior management on potential mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships and assess their financial implications within the planning framework.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Corporate Planning Maintenance and Optimization:
    • Ensure the smooth operation and continual improvement of NuBank's Corporate Planning processes, including Strategic Planning, Budget, and Rebudget Processes.
    • Collaborate closely with the FP&A team to update and optimize the Business Portfolio Management system to enhance data accuracy and usability.
  2. Timely Delivery and Escalation:
    • Oversee the delivery timeline for all planning artifacts, ensuring adherence to established deadlines.
    • Identify risks to delivery schedules or process execution; escalate issues promptly to appropriate stakeholders to facilitate resolution.
  3. Process Monitoring:
    • Develop and utilize metrics to monitor the health of planning processes and delivery efficiency.
    • Track stakeholder engagement and performer hours dedicated to planning activities, as well as on-time delivery rates by teams, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  4. Maintenance of Logs and Trackers:
    • Maintain and update decision logs and follow-up trackers for both tactical planning (e.g., budget calendars) and “feeder” deliverables to ensure clear accountability and traceability.
    • Ensure thorough documentation of discussions and decisions to facilitate transparency and knowledge sharing among stakeholders.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Actively engage with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align planning objectives and incorporate diverse perspectives into the planning process.
    • Communicate process updates and the status of deliverables clearly and concisely to Executive audiences, ensuring they are informed and engaged.
  6. Process Management:
    • Leverage prior process-management expertise and mastery of process-management software tools to enhance planning efficiencies.
    • Continuously refine planning processes to incorporate feedback and adapt to changing business needs.

 

We are looking for a Corporate Planning Lead professional who has:

  • Proven expertise in process management, including extensive experience using process management software tools to facilitate planning activities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a clear and concise ability to convey updates and statuses to Executive audiences, ensuring alignment and understanding.
  • Strong influencing skills, enabling effective advocacy for on-time delivery of planning deliverables amongst executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across various teams, aligning planning goals and outputs while facilitating productive discussions around diverse executive stakeholder perspectives.
  • Functional knowledge of financial services business units to assess and prioritize strategic questions effectively, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or relevant certifications preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in corporate planning, financial analysis, or strategic management, preferably within the fintech or financial services industry.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Our Nu Way of Working

Our work model is hybrid and has cycles that can be from two to three months according to the business of ​​expertise. For every eleven weeks of remote work, one will be at the office.
