About the role


We are looking for a talented person to join our amazing Internal Audit team, the third line of defense at Nubank. Our mission is to provide an independent and objective assessment of internal controls and risk management, leveraging technology, data, and challenging the status quo to perform tests and generate insights that not only aid in building robust controls but also provide a business advantage.

The auditor will be responsible for conducting governance and regulatory audits, exploring the requirements of regulators in Brazil. This position will also involve handling requests from regulators, coordinating them within the Internal Audit team, and ensuring that quality responses are delivered on time.

You'll be responsible for

  • Participate in and lead audit fieldwork, particularly in Governance and Regulatory topics. This includes guiding projects, planning audit scope, executing tests, and producing final audit reports in collaboration with the team.
  • Engage with stakeholders from the first and second lines of defense to discuss audit findings and monitor the implementation of issues and action plans.
  • Coordinate the collection of information, prepare, and review responses to regulatory inquiries sent to the Internal Audit.
  • Proactively monitor key regulatory changes, providing timely updates and regulatory support to the Internal Audit team.
  • Contribute to Internal Audit's strategic projects.
  • Data collection and risk assessment to build the annual audit work plan.
  • Apply data exploration and analysis techniques to identify unmitigated risks and/or evaluate the efficiency of implemented controls.

We are looking for a person who has

  • Previous experience in audit, preferably in the financial, payments, or fintech sector.
  • Strong understanding of Brazil's regulatory environment, including familiarity with local regulatory bodies such as the Central Bank of Brazil and CVM.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and control testing.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to perform in-depth analysis, particularly related to governance issues.
  • Demonstrated willingness to share knowledge and contribute to the improvement of the team's technical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to collaborate effectively with different stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate English level.
  • Ability to constantly adapt and quickly learn new technologies and tools, including AI tools.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools, such as Data Bricks and SQL,  is a plus.

Our Nu Way of Working 

Our work model is hybrid and has cycles that can be from two to three months according to the business of ​​expertise. For every eight or twelve weeks of remote work, one will be at the office.
