Senior Project Manager - New Nuclear

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the management and execution of new nuclear projects. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of project planning, development, and delivery, ensuring successful outcomes that align with client objectives and industry standards. This position requires a results-oriented professional with a proven track record in the nuclear industry and exceptional project management expertise. 

 

Priority will be given to candidates residing in Kincardine area or those open to relocating to the area, as the role requires a minimum of 2-3 days per week on-site. 

Location: Kincardine, Ontario 

Salary Range: $120-160k (Exact compensation may vary).

 

Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution: 

  • Develop and implement detailed project plans for new nuclear initiatives, ensuring alignment with client objectives and industry best practices. 
  • Oversee all phases of project development, from initiation to completion, while adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. 

Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry partners, and local communities. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders to address project concerns and ensure effective communication throughout. 

Risk Management: 

  • Identify project risks and uncertainties, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project delivery. 
  • Regularly monitor and report on project risks, ensuring proactive resolution. 

Project Leadership: 

  • Provide direction and guidance to cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and high performance. 
  • Ensure team members are aligned on project goals, deliverables, and timelines. 

Financial Management: 

  • Manage project budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effective execution. 
  • Monitor financial performance, prepare accurate reports on budget adherence and expenditure. 

Regulatory Compliance: 

  • Ensure all project activities comply with applicable nuclear regulations and standards. 
  • Uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship. 

 

What you bring to the table?

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience supporting a variety of projects, including construction, manufacturing, or engineering services projects. 
  • In-depth knowledge of nuclear energy technologies, regulations, and industry trends. 
  • Thorough understanding of large Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects, including subcontracting, prime contract management, and supply chain dynamics. 
  • Prior experience working in Integrated Project Delivery or complex Joint Venture models is advantageous, especially experience with new nuclear projects. 
  • Ability to make informed, data-driven decisions using a variety of analytical tools and methodologies. 
  • Working knowledge of industrial safety and nuclear safety culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
