Scientific Director

Nucleus Global are looking to hire a Scientific Director, to join a global medical affairs team with a leading pharmaceutical client. With key therapy area knowledge including MASH and hepatology, your experience developing and reviewing related content within a MedComms setting will be a vital factor. This role offers opportunities to be a partner and trusted advisor to the client, with travel for client meetings and events.

You will be a senior scientific member of an existing team and will partner with the scientific and CS leads to streamline processes, mentor and review work, enable high quality delivery and grow the business. Content delivery includes training materials, congress and symposia work as well as advisory board materials, where a therapeutic understanding of hepatology is key.

The position holder will be comfortable providing a high-level consultancy service to our pharmaceutical industry clients and ensure the scientific accuracy and high quality of medical communication projects.

 

Core duties

  • Works closely with the Client Services Director and Editorial Lead to ensure scientific excellence
  • Takes the scientific leadership role on a major revenue-generating account and build strong consultancy (“trusted advisor”) relationships with the client team
  • Demonstrates and maintains a thorough understanding of hepatology and medical affairs in particular
  • Works closely with client services and editorial leads in the development of proposals, medical education and communication tactics ensuring that they are scientifically sound and of high quality
  • Supports the delivery of strategic documents (e.g. scientific platforms, scientific statement development) and other deliverables with high scientific and strategic content (e.g. advisory boards, training materials)
  • Line manages junior writers.
