Compensation: $26.50/hour and equity

Position Overview
As the Manufacturing Specialist, you will support the on-site production of Numat’s growing commercial product lines that utilize its unique absorbents. You will be required to perform manufacturing tasks safely, efficiently, and in a manner consistent with Numat procedures. It will be essential to communicate information effectively and professionally to your small and nimble internal teammates. Your attention to detail and willingness to change in a fast-moving environment is crucial to support the team’s mission of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
 
Core hours are weekdays, 7 AM – 3 PM. The position may require work on Saturday and/or Sunday, holidays, and overtime.
 

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment to produce products safely, on time, and at target quality.

  • Example activities include batch drying operations, transferring solid and liquid chemicals, packaging equipment operation, and conducting at-line quality-assurance tests
  • Interface with industrial control screens to monitor and adjust continuous processes
  • Complete proper process documentation as required
  • Diagnose problems with equipment or process and, within SOP guidelines, adjust or escalate issues to the Supervisor or Maintenance team

Support execution of supporting tasks that keep the business running.

  • Operate industrial powered trucks to move materials through facility
  • Perform inventory management activities
  • Support new product development activities, as needed

Contribute to the continual improvement of manufacturing safety, quality and reliability.

  • Be responsible and held accountable for achieving compliance with our HSE Policy
  • Escalate quality deviations fearlessly
  • Perform basic maintenance activities as directed. These activities include using basic hand tools to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot plant equipment.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred:

  • +2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the chemical or process industry
  • Prior experience with industrial controls or computerized data systems
  • Work experience in ISO9001 (or equivalent) quality assurance environment
  • Experience working with hazardous chemicals

 

Requirements

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to stand, walk, sit, and climb or balance. The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet, hot, and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; chemicals; heat; noise and vibration.
  • Ability and willingness to wear respiratory and hearing protection equipment, as required, Numat provides protective equipment and engineering controls for these hazard meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements.
