Lead Software Developer

The Lead Software Developer will provide technical leadership across Oneview's backend and data platform initiatives, with a particular focus on our strategic move toward Snowflake-based analytics and data services. This individual will act as a domain expert, owning critical architectural decisions, driving engineering standards, and delivering scalable platform capabilities across application, data, and analytics workloads.

The role combines hands-on software development with leadership in cloud data platforms, database architecture, data engineering, and modern analytics solutions. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy, influencing technical direction across multiple teams while mentoring and supporting other engineers.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the design and evolution of Oneview's data platform architecture, defining standards and best practices across data storage, integration, analytics, and governance.
• Drive adoption and implementation of Snowflake-based solutions for reporting, analytics, AI-enabled data products, and enterprise data warehousing initiatives for Oneview.
• Own database architecture, performance tuning, operational excellence, and cost optimization across Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server environments for Oneview, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and fit for purpose.
• Design and maintain scalable data ingestion, transformation, and integration solutions, enabling high-volume application data to be leveraged for reporting, analytics, and data products.
• Drive the development of analytics, self-service reporting, and intelligent data capabilities, including semantic models, BI platform integration, and Snowflake Cortex-powered experiences.
• Partner with backend engineers to design and evolve scalable Java-based services, APIs, and distributed systems supporting business-critical applications.
• Contribute to cloud-native platform development using AWS services and modern DevOps practices.
• Develop Python-based solutions for automation, data processing, orchestration, and platform tooling.
• Partner with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to define scalable, long-term technical solutions.
• Drive engineering standards, platform consistency, and operational excellence across teams.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise-scale applications and platforms.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex technical projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong relational database (SQL Server or PostgreSQL) expertise with demonstrated experience in query optimization and database performance tuning for transactional applications.
• Strong experience in designing, implementing, and operating Snowflake-based data platforms in production environments.
• Strong understanding of data engineering, data warehousing, dimensional modelling and OLAP concepts.
• Familiarity with modern BI and analytics tools such as Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, or similar technologies.
• Experience with Snowflake Cortex, including semantic views, AI/ML capabilities, agents, AI-assisted analytics, or the development of AI-powered data products, is highly desirable.
• Strong Java development experience using Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, REST APIs, and microservice architectures.
• Strong AWS experience including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Strong Python development skills for automation, orchestration, and data engineering workloads.
• Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and messaging platforms such as Kafka.
• Practical experience using AI tools to improve software development workflows.
• Strong communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction beyond an immediate team and drive adoption of engineering best practices.

This is a hybrid role, open to all who reside within a commutable distance of our Singaporea office.
