Nurix Therapeutics is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of targeted protein degradation medicines, the next frontier in innovative drug design aimed at improving treatment options for patients with cancer and inflammatory diseases. Powered by a fully AI-integrated discovery engine capable of tackling any protein class, and coupled with unparalleled ligase expertise, Nurix’s dedicated team has built a formidable advantage in translating the science of targeted protein degradation into clinical advancements. Nurix aims to establish degrader-based treatments at the forefront of patient care, writing medicine’s next chapter with a new script to outmatch disease.
Position
You will lead the development of innovative analytical workflows that support and accelerate Nurix's DAC platform, applying your expertise in ADC and/or DAC characterization to solve complex scientific challenges. This is an opportunity to shape analytical strategy for a novel therapeutic platform at the forefront of drug discovery and development.
This is a laboratory role requiring assay design, method development, hands-on execution, and scientific communication to project and platform teams. You will design and execute analytical strategies for high-throughput DAC screening, establish quality criteria that drive conjugate advancement decisions, and partner closely with conjugation chemistry, biology, and bioanalytical teams from early screening through candidate selection.
Responsiblities:
- Design, execute and own the DAC screening characterization platform including DAR, aggregation, protein quantitation, and define the QC thresholds to advance conjugates for a program
- Present findings to project and platform teams; collaborate with conjugation chemistry, bioanalytical, and cell screening groups to align workflows, coordinate sample flow, and influence conjugate advancement decisions
- Lead and conduct in-depth characterization of antibodies and advanced DACs including positional isomers, glycosylation analysis, peptide mapping, and stability
- Integrate DAR, purity, hydrophobicity, and stability data into unified assessments with QC cutoffs that drive go/no-go decisions; identify structure-quality trends across antibody, linker, and payload variables
Requirements:
- PhD with 4+ years of industry experience in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related discipline
- Expertise in ADC/DAC & antibody characterization from method development to data interpretation
- Expertise with LCMS & HPLC methods for antibody and conjugate analysis, including DAR, SEC, peptide mapping, HIC, and other relevant industry leading methods
- Direct experience characterizing ADCs in an industry setting with working knowledge of conjugation chemistry, DAR heterogeneity, and common quality attributes
- Track record of independently designing experiments, developing analytical methods, troubleshooting assay and instrument performance, and managing priorities across multiple concurrent programs
- Ability to synthesize complex analytical datasets into actionable scientific conclusions and influence project decisions through clear communication to cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with native LCMS, positional isomer analysis, glycan analysis, CE-SDS for expanded conjugate or antibody characterization
- Background in peptide mapping, biophysical binding assays, and thermal stability
- Familiarity with developability assessment, forced degradation, or formulation-support analytics for biologics
- Familiarity & experience with Agilent instrumentation & analytical software (MassHunter, Byos, or equivalent)
Culture & Team Fit:
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple groups within the organization
- Excellent organization and communication with effective presentation skills
- Self-driven and enthusiastic with proficiencies to deliver in a dynamic environment
- Curious mindset with a willingness and flexibility to learn new skills
- High level of creativity and productivity with strong problem-solving skills
