Note to applicants: This role is located in Austin, TX. 

Who You Are: As a GL Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with a timely and accurate close process, as well as, driving continuous timeline and reporting efficiencies. You will support the closing process by assisting with data collection for month end reporting, preparing journal entries and completing account reconciliations. In the GL Accountant role, you will also work in collaboration with various departments to ensure accurate accounting data. 
       

What You're Good At: 

  • Assist in the month-end close process and support the proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
  • Prepare and submit monthly balance sheet reconciliations along with necessary support
  • Perform account analyses to ensure journal entries and balances are correct
  • Assist with the preparation of the internal income statement and balance sheet
  • Participate in the financial audit process including gathering of supporting documentation and preparation of necessary schedules
  • Contribute to improving the efficiency of current standard entries and processes
  • Work closely with finance and other accounting team members to ensure ledger data usability
  • Assist with accounting projects and initiatives as needed
  • In this position, your goals and KPI's will be focused around: 
    • Accurate and organized reconciliations 
    • Timely journal entry submissions 
    • Audit request completion

What You Contribute: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA or CPA Candidate Preferred (not required)
  • 2+ years general ledger accounting experience, or similar
  • Strong Excel skills (SumIf, Lookup, Match, Pivot tables, data organization etc.)
  • Experience with an ERP or financial reporting and control system (ex. Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Ability to build strong internal/external relationships
  • Excellent communicator, intellectually curious, and a quick learner
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
