Who You Are:

As a Senior Trade Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with a timely and accurate close process in relation to all trade accounting, as well as the production of the internal management reporting regarding trade. You will assist the closing process by analyzing ledger records, preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and providing a variety of standard reports. In the Senior Trade Accountant role, you will also be responsible for providing insight and solutions for more efficient daily transaction processing and consistency by collaborating within the Accounting and Finance department, as well as cross-functionally across the organization.

What You're Good At:

  • Assist in the month-end close process and support the proper and timely recording of trade finance transactions in the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
  • Prepare all entries and support for the company’s trade deduction activities
  • Prepare and submit monthly balance sheet reconciliations along with necessary support
  • Review monthly trade transactions and validate accuracy and consistency
  • Participate in the financial audit process including gathering of supporting documentation and preparation of necessary schedules
  • Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting
  • Work closely with finance and other accounting team members to ensure ledger data usability
  • Ensure Trade documentation guidelines and policies are well documented, applied consistently, and broadly understood
  • Assist with more complex accounting projects and initiatives as needed
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley

In this role your goals and KPIs will be focused around:

  • Reconciliation management
  • Variance analysis
  • Improvement of month end process

What You Contribute: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CPA Candidate Required
  • 5+ years accounting experience
  • 2+ years’ experience with Big 4 public accounting firm, preferred
  • Strong Excel skills (SumIf, Lookup, Match, Pivot tables, data organization etc.)
  • Experience with an ERP or financial reporting and control system (ex. Microsoft Dynamics AX)
  • Knowledge of GAAP standards
  • Ability to build strong internal/external relationships
  • Is an excellent communicator, adaptable and a quick learner
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive and anticipates results of their action or inaction
  • Experience operating in a SOX control and/or PCAOB environment a plus
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize tasks at hand
  • Entrepreneurial drive and spirit to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
