About You:

Nutrafol is seeking a Director, Retail Planning to join the Amazon team at Nutrafol. Day-to-day, you’ll be forecasting and monitoring daily sales performance, making adjustments, trend analysis, and owning the monthly targets and metrics for the Amazon channel.  

This role reports into the Vice President of Amazon but will also work hand in hand with the Data and Analytics and Demand Planning teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Performance Analysis:
    • Projections at the Total Order Date, New, and Repeat customer levels
      • Ability to forecast at Gross and Net
      • Understand “guaranteed repeat” revenue from subscriptions vs one off repeat rev
      • Understand and estimate forward looking new customer penetration and average order value for the channel
    • Understand spend to sales %, ROAS, and minimum thresholds needed
    • Sales impact of non-Amazon channel promotions
    • Forecasting promotional performance (July and Oct Prime Day, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, retention initiatives)
    • Understand daily sales trends and expected fluctuations based on consumer behavior
    • Ability to translate model forecasts into accurate assumptions based on seasonality, Amazon Ordered Product Sales (OPS) vs Order Date (Net and Gross) Variance, upcoming events
    • Ability to forecast daily sales performance and re-adjust projections based on trends and inputs (e.g., changes in conversion, buy box % variance, adjustments to media spend, inventory levels/out of stock, Subscribe and Save (SnS), promotions and offers)
    • Own monthly and daily target setting process for Amazon channel
    • Conduct regular analysis of sales performance, inventory sell through, and Gross Margin 
    • Prepare and present reports on key performance metrics to senior management
    • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Understanding of Financial modeling and ability to influence Data and Analytics team on system logic
    • Ability to bridge gaps in Ordered vs Shipped Revenue in partnership with Finance
    • Coordinate with the Data and Analytics team to leverage data analytics tools, review model forecasts, and provide a POV on daily, monthly, and quarterly performance.
    • Partner with finance teams to ensure alignment with financial goals and budgets.
    • Ability to leverage agency support for supplemental reporting or analysis
    • Collaborate closely with product, marketing, and supply chain teams to align on assortment strategies, 12 month launch forecasts, and promotional plans.
  • Merchandise Planning:
    • Develop and manage comprehensive merchandise plans to meet financial goals
    • Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities
    • Create sales, margin, and inventory forecasts to support business objectives

  • Market and Trend Analysis:
    • Stay informed about market trends, competitive activity, and consumer behavior
    • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and emerging trends
    • Incorporate market insights into planning and forecasting processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in operations, business management, or any
    business-related field.
  • 7+ years of experience working in retail planning, preferably with Amazon account experience within an eCommerce company
  • 5+ years experience with analytics tools, business and shopper insights, and data-driven planning and optimization
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, advance predictive formulas and Tableau
  • Hands-on experience delivering and presenting data and insights to Leadership and cross-functional teams to drive business decisions
  • In depth understanding of retailer reporting platform and forecasting tools (Vendor Central or Seller Central preferred)
  • Creative thinker and strategist to create unique out of the box solutions for growth
  • Ability to demonstrate strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives
Nutrafol takes into consideration a wide range of factors in final compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. The listed range is applicable only to the annual base salary and does not include additional perks, benefits, or applicable bonus eligibility comprising the total compensation package.

Salary Range:

$160,000 - $185,000 USD
