About You

The Retail Regional Sales Manager is a highly self-motivated, sales driven professional with a background in growing a successful regional business, delivering/exceeding annual sales plans against key commercial objectives, successfully managing a field team, and building/maintaining strong retailer relationships. In addition, the Retail Regional Sales Manager will lead, manage, and mentor a team of Sales and Education Executives, and oversee the recruitment and retention of Nutrafol field employees, while driving all sales strategies within their regional territories. Ideally, this candidate is experienced in hair and wellness, with a deep understanding of the open-sell, multi-branded environment.   

While Nutrafol is a remote company, this field role requires an on-site presence in the assigned territory. Candidates for this role should be based in the New Jersey area. 

Responsibilities

  • Daily management of retail sell thru to achieve weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual targets of their entire region
  • Analyze the region’s business, partnering with the Director of Retail to build strategic action plans that deliver brand growth & profitability.
  • Manage a team of Retail Sales and Education Executives and Freelance, to achieve sales goals, event development, and execution of new product launches.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and communicate them back to Director, Retail, to ensure Nutrafol can succeed in a competitive, ever-changing retail environment.
  • Closely monitor promotions and events through trackers, showing itemized investment costs, ROI, and sales volume.   
  • Possess a solid understanding of financial metrics and company KPI’s to provide weekly/monthly reporting of retail sales metrics in preparation of internal and external meetings.
  • Build best-in-class teams: build, lead, coach and develop Sales and Education Executives to deliver business retail sales goals and budgets on target in addition to fostering relationships with all retailers.
  • Work with Sales and Education Executives to review monthly territory schedules and action plans in advance to ensure business is properly supported in the right locations.
  • Work side by side with Sales and Education Executives in their markets to coach and lead by example. 
  • Lead team to implement and execute all corporate initiatives with excellence. Partner with Sr. Manager of Education and Events to plan and recap all Regional event and education opportunities.
  • Possess strong leadership qualities to develop, coach, mentor, and motivate field and freelance teams. 
  • Deliver clear,effective and actionable internal and external communication: business recaps, stock needs, market feedback etc during scheduled status meeting with Director of Retail Sales and Sr. Manager of Education and Events.
  • Ensure the field team is communicating any VM issues and following the store visit guidelines.
  • Manage travel budgets for the total Region. 
  • Maintain individual booking via the retailer booking process. Expectation 1x per week in direct accounts.
  • The schedule for this role is: Monday - Friday with 2 (virtual) office days a week (Monday & Tuesday), 1 of which is a flex day. The other days are in the field. Subject to change due to the needs of the business. 

Requirements

  • College degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience and extensive knowledge of working in an open-sell environment: staff profiles, retailer activations, retailer events, competitive brands, etc. 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a regional field team of 5 or more, through the entire process:  hiring, training, sales accountability, sales strategy, retention, etc.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Docs.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and develop relevant and actionable plans, programs and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage and navigate internal and retailer relationships with agility in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate in all mediums including e-mail, in person meetings and online calls.
  • Ability to manage inventories and manage retailer expectations, in the best interest of the overall company goals.
  • Partner with visual teams and feed any necessary information to the Director, Retail to ensure brand standard alignment.  
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work cross functionally with e-commerce, marketing, education, etc. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and car with the ability to drive/travel to various store locations for sales support and hands on training.
  • Ability to travel 80% of the time in car/plane in designated regional territory or to NYC meetings. Pending the needs of the business.
Nutrafol takes into consideration a wide range of factors in final compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. The listed range is applicable only to the annual base salary and does not include additional perks, benefits, or applicable bonus eligibility comprising the total compensation package.

Salary Range:

$105,000 - $110,000 USD
