Junior People Generalist (Bilingual in Spanish and English required)

The role
To keep up with our accelerated growth, our People Team is searching for a qualified and resourceful Junior Generalist to support our department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The Junior Generalist will assist in building and developing and pushing forward best in class people and culture programs and will mainly focus on supporting our warehouse employee population.
The duties include recruiting and onboarding of warehouse staff and corporate employees, collecting and storing employee files, ensuring I-9 Compliance, interacting with warehouse employees on a daily basis, drafting templates for HR documents and policies and working with other members of the department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for company employees.
This role will also ensure adherence to food safety policies, practices, and standards (e.g. GMP, HAACP, etc) across the warehouse, documenting and escalating food safety concerns to the food safety team for action; in addition to ensuring compliance with local, state, and national food safety regulations, including Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) or other applicable standards. The People Generalist reports to the VP of People and works in the Cranford, NJ manufacturing plant.
What you'll do:
- Recruitment and Hiring processes for all NJ WH employees
- Paycom onboarding for all other Corporate and DC employees
- Complete background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- WH Employee Orientation, development, and training.
- SOP development and documentation
- Maintaining electronic files for employees
- Ensuring appropriate disciplinary action is taken for employees who violate rules and regulations
- Addressing and investigating employee relations matters
- Addressing employee matters
- Set up and Coordinate Employee engagement events
- Culture Club Liaison for WH and corporate
- Report Call Outs and follow up as needed
- Follow-up with employees to make sure their I9 Documentation is up to date in Paycom
- Incident reports and sending employees to care station, as needed
- Partner with Ops to create a recruitment plan and calendar according to operation and sales projections
- Attend hiring events, as needed
- Reconcile and submit People team credit card expenses to the Finance team
- OSHA Reporting in Paycom
- Track and manage donations
- Disability Paperwork
- Backup for workers comp and leaves of absence
- Benefits enrollment with warehouse employees
- Audit coordination (i.e. Smeta and DOJ)
- LinkedIn engagement
What you'll bring
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field of study
- 0-3 years of relevant HR Generalist level experience
- Exceptional follow-through and attention to detail
- Excellent writing skills with great attention to detail and a spark of creativity
- Extremely flexible, highly organized, and able to easily shift priorities
- Ability and willingness to take on the administrative duties
- "Customer service" minded professional
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate with various levels and teams within the company
- Highly proficient with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Paycom or other HRIS is a HUGE plus
- Experience working in a fast paced environment
- Experience in HACCP, allergen control, GMP, and sanitation
