Summary of Position:

NVE Experience Agency is seeking a Group Account Director to counsel and strategically grow multiple account teams and brands within a customer group. This role will oversee the development of experiential marketing strategies, campaigns and projects and events. Candidates should have exceptional interpersonal communication skills, extensive experience handling senior Clients, and a history of leading multiple accounts and project teams. They should have an aptitude and demonstrated ability towards business acumen, strategic thinking, problem solving, process development and the ability to facilitate different Clients, account teams and priorities simultaneously.

The Group Account Director will be responsible for managing the business health of their customer group, and individual customers within their group, to include ownership of all associated revenue and financial goals. They will develop and own relationships with some of our most senior Clients with a focus on facilitating strategic growth at the Group Director level.  Internally, they will oversee and optimize client service and project management processes to ensure we are delivering exceptional client experiences and premiere marketing solutions agency-wide.

This role will report directly to NVE’s EVP of Client Services.

Role Priorities:

  • Client Counsel & Leadership: Nurture, guide and counsel senior-level client relationships across multiple accounts within your customer group. 
  • Financial Leadership: Lead and manage all revenue and gross profit associated with your customer group, approx. $20M - $30M in gross revenue per year.
  • Project & Program Leadership: Provide senior oversight and guidance for your account teams across multiple projects under your customer group and serve as the point of escalation for senior Clients and project team members. To include senior project leadership across large format programs and complex events with budgets of $500k - $10M+.
  • Group Leadership: Play a pivotal role in the leadership of your customer group including; managing all revenue projections for your Clients, overseeing a team of senior level supervisors, leading the creation of customer forward plans (in collaboration with your Account teams), providing quarterly financial updates to Executive Leadership, and collaborating with department group leadership on ensuring the overall health of your accounts. 
  • Group Growth & New Business: Lead and own all growth opportunities for your customer group, securing year-over-year revenue growth for multiple Clients, proactively fostering organic growth streams and leading RFPs / new business opportunities. 
  • Account Team Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor, supervise, train, and lead assigned account teams to success, ensuring talents and resources are both maximized and nurtured.
  • Resourcing & Recruiting: Takes ownership of the recruiting process for open positions on their team as they grow and scale the business. In addition to managing bandwidth and resourcing within their customer groups and associated account teams.
  • Department Operations: Work with EVP of Account Services to oversee and optimize strategic management and growth of all department operations including but not limited to department staffing and recruitment strategies, process optimization and MSA system management. Work cross functionally with Marketing and Business Development as a business unit that is part of NVE’s Growth Group. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Client Services & Brand Strategy
    • Develop and deepen client relationships and grow key accounts within a specific portfolio of business.
    • Provides high-level supervision across all active business and works with Directors and Sr. Directors to grow, build, and maintain overall client health.
    • As the second line of senior counsel, this candidate should be able to troubleshoot client issues and turbulent projects before escalating to executive leadership.
    • Oversee development and delivery of creative ideas that meet client objectives using a wide arsenal of marketing tactics including live events, social media, emerging technology, and strategic partnerships.
    • Owns client/project projections and identifies staffing needs based on business.
    • Leads recruiting and interview process with HR.
    • Actively participates in leadership training and regularly conducts training and workshops with Directors and the entire department.
  • Group Leadership:
    • Serve as a member of your customer group’s Group Leadership Team, acting as a senior liaison between Production, Creative Services, Strategy departments and the Client to ensure all contracted deliverables are executed at the highest level and the client experience is nurtured and effectively managed through the full lifecycle of a project.
    • Supervise and monitor assigned account team’s day-to-day activities internal/external weekly updates on project development and management, client meeting preparation, etc.
    • Oversee the implementation of all necessary internal and external processes to ensure proper internal/external information and communication flow, adjusting and creating new processes as needed.
    • Consistently motivate internal teams and actively promote innovation, new thinking, and advancement of skills.
    • Develop weekly and monthly reporting mechanisms for tracking growth progress of assigned teams and accounts.
    • Participate in corporate-level growth activities and committees as discussed with and/or assigned by EVP, and attend and supervise critical internal and external meetings as needed.
    • Oversee and guide a team of directors to strategically manage all aspects of client agency relationship and a portfolio of business.
    • Be a strong leader - bring positive energy, inspiration and mentorship to the Accounts Department and across other divisions of the company, establishing strong bonds and community within the agency.
  • New Business + Account Growth 
    • Guide and counsel leading brands by providing a strategic approach to grow leading brands within your customer group.
    • Partner with other Account Directors and Senior Account Directors to strategize growth plans and identify existing and future opportunities for key accounts.
    • Responsible for tracking profitability and financial overview for a portfolio of brands within your customer group 
    • Work with new business teams to proactively identify ways to further engage and grow assigned accounts.
    • Oversee development and delivery of new business proposals and RFP, ensuring the strategy aligns with the clients’ objectives and goals.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated experience successfully leading and converting new business opportunities, understanding all stages of the new business process, and successfully scaling teams and business operations to support growth
  • Department and Group Operations:
    • Assist EVP in assigning new accounts to appropriate account teams. This includes management of all account resourcing decisions for their customer group(s), as well as oversight of team’s bandwidth and managing utilization. 
    • Manage resourcing, utilization and profit margins for existing client groups, and work with other Group Account Directors to support resourcing across groups as needed. 
    • Assist EVP in preparation for all department-related meetings.
    • Manage customer group P&L.
    • Establish cross-functional relationships with department counterparts and assist in overseeing the health of cross-department activities, relationships, processes, and workflow.
    • Support EVP in leading department initiatives such as onboarding / training process, operational best practices for the departments, etc. to ensure the department runs smoothly.
    • Work with EVP of Account Services to oversee and optimize strategic management and growth of all department operations including but not limited to department staffing and recruitment strategies, process optimization and MSA system management.
    • Participate in corporate-level growth activities and committees as discussed with and/or assigned by EVP, attend and supervise critical internal/external meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in account leadership, campaign/event management/production, marketing, digital PR, and experiential
  • Has extensive experience mentoring, managing and growing teams
  • Has simultaneously managed 3+ direct reports simultaneously (manager-level and above) and teams of 6+ 
  • Familiarity with developing integrated campaigns that include paid, earned, social, and owned media for brands.
  • Proven track record of client leadership and account/revenue growth and aptitude for business management
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated experience successfully leading and converting new business opportunities, understanding all stages of the new business process, and successfully scaling teams and business operations to support growth
  • Experience in an agency environment; must be process-oriented and highly organized
  • Excellent people manager with ability to recruit and retain high functioning employees; naturally driven to inspire, motivate, and mentor
  • Viewed as a strong, respected, and inspiring leader by current leadership, peers, Clients, and direct reports
  • Experience with management and oversight of complex client budgets
  • Ability to write effectively, persuasively, and professionally
  • Confidence in verbal and written communication with excellent presentation skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to work extended hours and on weekends when necessary

Location:

  • We are a hybrid company with hub locations in Los Angeles and New York. The ideal candidate is located in New York City, however, we will consider remote candidates for this role.

Salary Estimation: 

This is an Exempt full-time role. NVE intends to provide a competitive total compensation package which includes a variety of incentives, benefits, growth and developmental opportunities. The estimated salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000. There are many factors to the presented salary range, including but not limited to - location, departmental budgets, certifications, and overall job-related qualifications.
