Summary of Position:                                                   

We are seeking a talented Group Creative Director to join our Creative Services team. The Group Creative Director is a project leader, deeply involved in collaborative concept ideation and ultimately responsible for the creation direction and development of amazing design solutions for culturally impactful brands.  Reporting to the SVP of Creative Services, the Group Creative Director will provide high level counsel and management across multiple workstream and manage the Associate Creative Directors and Creative Director within their group.  Additionally, the Creative Director will serve as the Creative Director on RFP proposals, managing a wide variety of internal and freelance design resources to execute.

This person is an innovator, a storyteller, a communicator, and trend obsessed. They are deeply curious about the intersection of culture and design and how it impacts consumer behavior. They are ahead of the trends in architecture, branding, music, fashion, art, and tech. They are a leader, a team player, a mentor, and a downright overachiever. They want to change the world and the role our brands play in it.

You will join an ambitious team of experiential creatives, strategists, and producers. You will work closely with Diageo leadership and the Project Creative Directors to inspire the best and most effective design work possible, and interface with senior clients on an as needed basis. You should be able to own a room, run a strategic design process from beginning to end, under the executive leadership of NVE Creative Services Department.  You will report directly into SVP Creative Services.

The Group Creative Director will have the support of the SVP of Creative Services for brainstorms, as a sounding board or for more senior counsel on an as needed basis. It is the responsibility of the Group Creative Director to assess when this support is needed and communicate with the SVP of Creative Services.

Role Priorities:

  • Manage the multiple workstreams within your group ensuring the constant elevation of creative output, development of the Associate Creative Director and Creative Director level talent at a project level.
    • Provide consistent oversight for projects led by Associate Creative Directors.
    • Be available for consult and support for the Creative Directors with the group, as needed.
  • Oversee the creative direction of RFP proposals leveraging experiential, graphic and presentation design.
    • Develop fresh and unique design solutions to the project’s diverse lineup of challenges, bringing to life the core team’s strategy through high-quality design solutions rooted in inclusivity.
    • Work closely with the other members of the project team to ensure designs are reflective of the established creative strategy and deliver against the project brief, constraints, and budget.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualization: Work collaboratively as a member of team leadership to develop ground-breaking creative concepts and beautiful design solutions, for RFPs and & Sold Business
  • Creative Direction: set a high bar for creative output and mentor the Associate Creative Directors and Creative Directors to do the same
  • POV: Maintain a consistent strong point of view and be able to articulate creative ideas internally and externally
  • Mentorship: Mentor Associate Creative Directors and Creative Directors on a per project basis to grow creatively and consistently more autonomous through brainstorming sessions, & concept execution
  • Management: Responsible for the management of the Associate Creative Directors and Creative Directors within the group
  • Presentation: Present RFP proposals directly to clients and be able to articulate and sell a concept effectively
  • Problem Solving: Work closely with the SVP Creative Services to identify problems and develop solutions quickly to refine systems and process to optimize the workflows and ensure a high level of design output and efficiency
  • Budget Management: Ensure that each Creative Director is estimating and monitoring project hours utilization and planning appropriately

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Scenic Design, Architecture, Interior Design Industrial Design or similar and/or training in art and technology, computer/digital art
  • Track record of exemplary creative execution with 12+ years’ experience; Agency experience preferred
  • Experience designing multicultural marketing campaigns, design concepts, and programming is preferred
  • Passionate about the role brands play in culture, events and experiences with a proven ability to weave culture into design solutions
  • A passion and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to work and thrive as a member of a team in a fast-paced creative deadline driven environment with multiple projects
  • Skillfully manage a wide variety of design disciplines to execute the project objectives
  • Must be able to work creatively within a budget
  • Strong creative and problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail and meticulous follow through
  • Strong communication skills: pictorial, written and verbal
  • Proficient in industry software including 3d modeling, rendering, drafting fabrication documents, image manipulation. Shows initiative to acquire new technical skills to amplify knowledge & design abilities
  • Positive can-do attitude. Self-Motivated, energetic, and organized
  • Desire to positively influence the culture and attitudes of the creative services department and company as a whole

Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the time

Location: We are a hybrid company with hub locations in Los Angeles and New York City. The ideal candidate is located in LA or NY.

Salary Estimation: [$175,000.00 - $200,000.00]

This is an Exempt full-time role. NVE intends to provide a competitive total compensation package which includes a variety of incentives, benefits, growth and developmental opportunities. There are many factors to the presented salary range, including but not limited to - location, departmental budgets, certifications, and overall job-related qualifications.
