Summary of Position:
The Fabrication Director oversees management of all areas of fabrication to produce items and direct activities to ensure that items are built on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.
Responsibilities:
Department Operations
- Assists company officers and senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies and objectives.

- Develops the production plan and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of fabrication operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
- Routine quality control inspections
- Maximize production efficiency
- Increase profitability
- Manages the ordering and delivery of project materials and supplies.
- Formulates and recommends fabrication policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
- Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap.
Department Development
- Hires, trains, develops and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Consults with HR as appropriate.
- Initiates and coordinates major projects (e.g., Facility layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).
Department Expense Management
- Works with Project Management teams to construct project estimates and communicate fabrication objectives and material suggestions to clients.
- Raw Materials, Shop Labor, Install Labor Costs
- Creates and manages employee schedule
- T-Sheets job additions & job board management
- Payroll review and submissions via T-Sheets
Requirements:
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills.
- Possesses detailed knowledge of custom fabrication industry.
- Works well with a team
- Exhibits strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Possesses solid analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Manages time efficiently and is able to multi task effectively.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and is detail oriented.
- Is capable of translating industry terminology into straightforward terms for explanatory purposes.
- Ability to operate power tools such as table saws, chop saws, finish guns and other carpentry related tools
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, schedules and other construction documents
- Strong leadership experience
- Ability to work overtime when needed
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
- Must be willing to travel
Work Environment:
- Some areas of the job site may be hazardous so protective gear should be worn when appropriate
- Shift may vary from day to evenings.
- Weekend hours will be required.
- Standard 40-hour workweek applies, though overtime may be necessary.
Location: The Treehouse warehouse is located in Los Angeles and this employee must report onsite 5-days a week.
Salary Estimation: $120k – 140k + bonus program
This is a full-time exempt position. NVE intends to provide a competitive total compensation package which includes a variety of incentives, benefits, growth and developmental opportunities.
