Summary of Position:

NVE Experience Agency is seeking a Director, New Business to lead the strategic development and execution of complex, high-value proposal opportunities. In this role, the Director will serve as a senior business leader responsible for autonomously directing new business initiatives from evaluation through pitch delivery, with a particular focus on large-scale and complex B2B engagements.

This individual will be expected to provide confident strategic leadership across cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and ensure proposals are insight-driven, operationally sound, and competitively differentiated. The ideal candidate brings deep experience leading high-stakes RFP processes, exceptional communication and executive presence, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while driving clarity, alignment, and momentum.

Job Responsibilities:

New Business Strategy & Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as a senior business lead responsible for strategically directing the development of complex new business opportunities from initial evaluation through final pitch delivery
  • Provide autonomous leadership in shaping proposal strategy, approach, and positioning, ensuring alignment with Client needs and Agency priorities
  • Lead the strategic direction of large-scale and complex RFPs, with demonstrated comfort navigating ambiguity, competing priorities, and evolving scope
  • Partner closely with senior leadership to evaluate inbound opportunities and determine overall pursuit strategy, including resourcing, investment level, and competitive positioning
  • Direct cross-functional teams across Strategy, Creative, Design, and Production to develop innovative, insight-driven proposals that showcase NVE’s capabilities and differentiated value
  • Provide clear strategic guidance and decision-making to ensure proposal cohesion, narrative strength, and operational feasibility
  • Establish credibility and influence with senior cross-functional partners, effectively counseling teams and driving alignment toward a unified proposal vision
  • Lead high-level pitch storytelling and presentation strategy, ensuring clarity of message, strategic rigor, and executive-level delivery
  • Oversee pitch preparation, rehearsal strategy, and live Client presentations for assigned opportunities
  • Identify trends, insights, and opportunities to improve win rates, proposal effectiveness, and overall new business strategy

Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence

  • Effectively communicate, direct, and influence cross-functional partners at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
  • Provide clear direction and decision-making in high-pressure environments while maintaining strong working relationships across teams
  • Demonstrate strong executive presence and the ability to confidently manage up, ensuring leadership is appropriately informed, aligned, and engaged
  • Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics and competing priorities to maintain forward momentum on critical pursuits
  • Model strong leadership behaviors that reinforce accountability, clarity, and collaboration across teams

RFP Oversight & Process Optimization

  • Provide strategic oversight of RFP development processes, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and workflows are structured to support high-quality proposal outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to evolve and scale new business processes to support increasingly complex pursuits and agency growth
  • Establish clear decision points, roles, and accountability across proposal teams to ensure efficient execution
  • Guide teams through ambiguity and change while maintaining focus on quality, speed, and strategic alignment
  • Lead post-pitch audits and performance analysis to identify learnings and continuous improvement opportunities

RFP & Business Development Content Leadership

  • Provide strategic direction on proposal messaging, positioning, and narrative development
  • Ensure proposal content reflects a strong point of view, clear differentiation, and alignment with Client business objectives
  • Contribute to the development of high-impact capabilities and positioning materials as needed

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in new business proposal development, business development, or account leadership within the experiential, marketing, events, and/or communications industries
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, high-value RFP processes from strategy through execution
  • Proven ability to independently direct cross-functional teams and drive strategic decision-making in fast-paced environments
  • Strong experience leading large-scale and complex B2B event or program proposals
  • Exceptional communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and executive-level audiences
  • Proven track record of contributing to successful new business growth through winning proposals
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution
  • Highly organized, process-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to work extended hours and on weekends when necessary
  • Proven ability to translate brand strategy into compelling experiential programs

Extra Credit:

  • Experience leading campaign-led RFPs or integrated marketing programs
  • Experience across priority industry categories including entertainment, sports, retail, beauty, or technology
  • Highly connected within relevant industries and with key decision makers at Fortune 500 brands
  • Experience working in a high-growth agency environment
  • Located in Los Angeles or New York

Requirements: 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the time while working remotely and in a standing position 50% or more of the time while working onsite

Location: We are a hybrid company with hub locations in Los Angeles and New York. The ideal candidate is located in any of our hub locations.

Salary Estimation: [$120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year]

This is an exempt full-time position. NVE intends to provide a competitive total compensation package which includes a variety of incentives, benefits, growth and developmental opportunities. There are many factors to the presented salary range, including but not limited to - location, departmental budgets, certifications, and overall job-related qualifications.
