Account Director - London

Summary of Position:
At NVE, Client Services exists to drive growth for our clients, our business and our teams through exceptional partnership, strategic counsel and a deep understanding of our clients' businesses.
The Account Director is a client and business leader responsible for the health, growth and commercial performance of assigned client accounts. They build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, understand their clients' business and brand priorities, identify opportunities for growth, and bring together the right capabilities across NVE to deliver against them.
Working across Accounts, Production, Strategy, Creative and Content, the Account Director ensures NVE is operating as an integrated partner to the client. They provide senior counsel, maintain visibility across the portfolio, resolve client and commercial challenges, and identify opportunities to deepen and expand the partnership.
The Account Director is expected to look beyond the immediate project pipeline, developing a clear point of view on where the client's business is going, where NVE can add greater value, and how the partnership can grow over time.
This role reports directly to the Group Account Director, London.
Role Priorities:
- Client Leadership: Own senior client relationships across assigned accounts, building trust, understanding client priorities and providing proactive counsel that extends beyond individual projects.
- Business Leadership: Own the health and growth of assigned client businesses, with accountability for revenue, profitability, forecasting, organic growth and the development of long-term account plans.
- Strategic Stewardship: Develop a deep understanding of each client's business, brand and audience, helping shape their experiential vision and identifying opportunities for NVE to deliver greater value.
- Financial Management: Own the commercial performance of assigned accounts, ensuring strong financial management, accurate forecasting, healthy margins and disciplined scope management.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Bring together the right capabilities across Accounts, Production, Strategy, Creative and Content, creating clarity around client priorities and ensuring teams are set up to deliver their best work.
- Portfolio Oversight: Maintain senior visibility across the portfolio of work, ensuring client expectations, commercial objectives and quality standards are being met while supporting teams in navigating senior-level challenges and escalations.
- New Business & Organic Growth: Identify and convert opportunities to expand existing client partnerships and play a leadership role in RFPs, proposals and pitches across London and EMEA.
- Onsite Client Leadership: Serve as a senior client partner onsite for priority programs, maintaining stakeholder confidence, providing counsel and helping resolve senior client or commercial challenges.
Job Responsibilities:
Client Leadership
- Serve as the senior client lead across assigned accounts, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
- Develop a deep understanding of clients' businesses, brands, audiences and strategic priorities.
- Provide proactive counsel and bring forward ideas, insights and opportunities that create value beyond the immediate brief.
- Develop and maintain long-term account plans that connect client priorities with opportunities for growth.
- Lead regular account health reviews, identifying risks, opportunities and actions required to strengthen the partnership.
- Ensure NVE's work is aligned to client objectives, KPIs and broader business goals.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for client challenges, helping teams navigate complex conversations and maintain strong partnerships.
Business Growth & Development
- Own year-over-year growth planning across assigned accounts.
- Identify and develop organic growth opportunities across existing client relationships.
- Build relationships beyond immediate project stakeholders to broaden NVE's reach and influence within client organizations.
- Partner with agency leadership to identify opportunities for portfolio expansion across London, EMEA and the wider NVE network.
- Lead pitches and proposals for organic and existing-client opportunities, while playing a key role in larger new business pursuits.
- Contribute to qualification, strategic positioning and pitch development for new business opportunities.
Accounts & Cross Functional Leadership
- Provide leadership and direction to Account Managers and junior Account team members, supporting their development in client leadership, strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
- Establish clear account priorities and ensure cross-functional teams understand the client's business, objectives and expectations.
- Partner closely with Production, Strategy, Creative and Content leadership to ensure the right capabilities and resources are brought to each opportunity.
- Maintain senior visibility across active programs, providing guidance and support where client, scope or commercial challenges arise.
- Create clarity and alignment across complex accounts with multiple stakeholders, workstreams and agency disciplines.
- Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture that enables teams to deliver exceptional work.
Financial Stewardship
- Maintain oversight across multiple concurrent programs within assigned client portfolios.
- Own revenue and gross profit performance across assigned accounts.
- Lead portfolio forecasting and contribute to agency financial planning.
- Ensure scopes are commercially sound and aligned with client expectations.
- Maintain visibility across scope changes, SOW development and financial performance.
- Partner with project and Production leads to identify and address risks to scope, profitability or client satisfaction.
- Ensure account teams maintain accurate and consistent financial reporting.
- Support the development of post-program reporting, ensuring learnings and results inform future client strategy and growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in account leadership, client services or a related role within experiential marketing, integrated agencies or a comparable creative environment.
- Demonstrated experience owning and growing significant client relationships, with accountability for revenue, profitability and long-term account health.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships and provide strategic counsel to senior client stakeholders.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with forecasting, margin management, scope development and portfolio planning.
- Experience leading complex, integrated client accounts and maintaining oversight across multiple concurrent programs.
- Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to connect client business objectives to experiential and creative opportunities.
- Demonstrated success identifying and converting organic growth opportunities.
- Experience contributing to and leading pitches, proposals and new business opportunities.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams across disciplines including Production, Strategy, Creative and Content.
- Experience mentoring and developing Account Managers and emerging client leaders.
- Confident, collaborative and solutions-oriented, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and senior-level challenges.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong executive presence.
Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the time.
Location:
We are a hybrid company with hub locations in Los Angeles, New York City and London. The candidate for this role must be UK based and is expected to work from the London office on average 2–3 days per week.
