Position Overview: The Executive Driver provides safe, secure, professional, and discreet transportation for NYCEDC executives to and from residences, NYCEDC offices, public events, conferences, meetings, and other official engagements. This role requires situational awareness, sound judgment, confidentiality, and a professional business appearance. The Executive Driver maintains the assigned executive vehicle in a clean, secure, and operationally ready condition and may provide administrative support to Corporate Services and security operations as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, secure, and timely transportation for President’s Office staff, NYCEDC personnel, and guests to and from official engagements, including residences, NYCEDC offices, public events, conferences, and meetings.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and sound discretion regarding executive schedules, movements, conversations, sensitive information, and organizational matters.
- Coordinate schedules, routes, arrival and departure logistics, and transportation details with President’s Office assistants to support timely and efficient executive movement.
- Operate safely and professionally during extended periods in NYC traffic while monitoring surrounding conditions, traffic patterns, and potential route concerns.
- Maintain the President’s vehicle in a clean, secure, and operationally ready condition, including monitoring maintenance needs, fuel levels, safety equipment, and overall vehicle readiness.
- Maintain knowledge of the NYC metro area and use navigation tools, real-time traffic information, and route awareness to support safe, efficient, and reliable travel.
- Assist with driving tours for NYCEDC and the New York City Mayor’s Office, ensuring safe transportation, professional conduct, and awareness of route and event conditions.
- Maintain continuous situational awareness during transportation assignments to support the safe movement of the President, President’s Office staff, NYCEDC personnel, and guests.
- Support the NYCEDC Security team with key operational duties, including building fire safety, access control, key card administration, CCTV monitoring, incident reporting, visitor management, and response coordination.
- Support security planning, staffing, and on-site coordination for public hearings, executive meetings, special events, and other high-visibility activities.
- Provide support to the Corporate Services team, including Reception, Fleet Maintenance, and Facilities Management, with attention to safety, security, customer service, and business continuity.
- Report safety, security, vehicle, route, or operational concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor or security contact and support follow-up actions as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid NYS Driver’s License and demonstrated history of safe and responsible driving required
- Extensive experience driving corporate executives and/or experience in law enforcement, emergency management, corporate security, or security operations in the NYC metro area.
- Demonstrated knowledge of emergency response, incident reporting, access control, CCTV monitoring, and security procedures.
- NYS Security Guard Training or law enforcement credentials.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in high-visibility or sensitive environments
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and during emergencies or continuity events as required.
- NYC residency within 180 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NYS Defensive Driving Course or Equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of corporate security procedures and protocols.
Salary Range
$70,000 - $72,000 USD
