Manager, Accounting
The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages the efficient flow of electricity on more than 11,000 circuit-miles of high-voltage transmission lines, dispatching power from hundreds of generating units across the state.
The NYISO’s Finance department invites applications for a full-time Manager, Accounting.
The Certified Public Accountant will manage the daily administration of the company's budgetary processes, financial reporting, regulatory reporting and general accounting functions. Provide direct supervision for accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounting personnel; Develop procedures and methods to ensure accountings systems are effective and serve on management committees and project teams as required.

- Clearing of Market Participant Receivables/Payables
- Employee Expense Reports and Vendor Accounts Payable
- Employee Retirement Plans
- Management and Administrative functions
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and CPA license require
- Ten years related experience including public accounting; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated successful management and leadership skills; excellent communication skills in written, oral and presentation format are require
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and/or complaints. Ability to write presentations and articles using business techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and/or presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Intermediate competency in Windows operating environment using MS Office applications, e-mail and internet programs. Advanced proficiency with Excel. Experience with Oracle Financials and/or similar product with demonstrated ability to become intermediate to advanced user of financial module. Ability to use a calculator.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Contact with staff and the public will occur. Travel may be required to attend and/or conduct meetings, conferences, and training. This position may require work nights, weekends or holidays.

Salary Range
$114,500 - $198,500 USD
