Position Title: EMS Supervisor

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the successful planning and execution of electrical projects.
Salary Range: $101,000 - $108,000
Location: Onsite (Los Angeles, CA)

Position: Administrative Assistant II
Essential Job Duties
- The EMS Supervisor will act as the subject matter expert in Energy Management Systems (EMS). This
individual will oversee the installation, turnover, and use of our EMS controls systems. The EMS
Supervisor will work with the LAUSD Technical Quality Support Team (TQST) and use the EMS to
encourage preventative maintenance, identify potential energy conservation measures, and suggest
facility improvements.
9.1 Perform HVAC Controls Design reviews
9.2 Perform HVAC Controls Submittal reviews
9.3 Review utility data and energy usage to identify schools for recommissioning and retro
commissioning
9.4 Review EMS, energy data, and alarms to identify no cost/low-cost energy conservation measures
9.5 Review EMS, energy data, and alarms to identify preventive maintenance measures
9.6 Review newly turned over schools’ energy usage versus benchmarks in design to verify
performance
9.7 Assist in updating controls specifications to meet new federal, state or local codes/standards
9.8 Assist with implementing requirements to allow for integration of other controls systems
(Lighting, Irrigation, PV) with EMS
9.9 Assist in creation of district standard control sequences of operations
9.10 Assist with drafting Controls shop drawings and sequences of operations for small controls
upgrade projects
9.11 Review of the feasibility of retro commissioning measures
9.12 Assist in managing In-House Commissioning Projects
9.13 Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Required Experience:
10.1 Minimum of five (5) years’ professional experience in building controls or a related field.
10.2 Experience with programming and controls database management
10.3 Comprehensive understanding of computer networking principles, including configuration,
maintenance, and troubleshooting.
10.4 Competent knowledge and proficiency with HVAC operations within a facility
10.5 Experience in creating and adjusting sequences of operations, shop drawings, and project
specifications
Required Education:
10.6 Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s or associate degree in
engineering (mechanical, computer science, electrical, information technology)
OR
10.7 Two-year technical degree in HVAC, Electronics-related studies with additional 2 years of
experience to compensate for education on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications:
10.8 Experience working with multiple controls manufacturers including Automated Logic, Carrier,
Delta, Distech, Schneider Electric, or Trane
10.9 Proven ability to debug installation issues during both static and dynamic start-up phases
10.10 Experience supporting installation personnel and other contractors on project sites
10.11 Extensive experience in performing or assisting in performance of commissioning of EMS
