Position Title: Associate Interior Designer

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator/Engineer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the successful planning and execution of electrical projects.

Salary Range:  $101,000 - $108,000

Location: Onsite (Los Angeles, CA)

Position: Associate Interior Designer-Project Execution-Furniture and Interior Group 

Salary Range:  $101,000 - $108,000

Location: Onsite (Los Angeles, CA)    

Type: Full-Time        

Duties:
9.1  Assists the Interior Designer in evaluating the furniture, fixtures, and equipment needs for 
projects, and develops efficient solutions within budget, schedule, and standards.
9.2  Develops space plans and interior architectural layouts; and assists in the selection of 
furnishings, equipment, and interior finishes for schools in accordance with District and industry 
standards.
9.3  Reviews and evaluates construction documents and visits project sites to confirm that space 
plans, design concepts and selected furniture and equipment are safe, functional, and aesthetically 
appropriate. Ensures that selected furniture and equipment meet all public health, safety, and 
welfare requirements including fire and life safety code, accessibility, environmental, and 
sustainability guidelines.
9.4  Assists the Interior Designer in planning meetings and site visits to evaluate and review 
project needs and status.
9.5  Assists the Interior Designer in developing and implementing project schedules and the 
installation of furniture and equipment orders.
9.6  Assists in communication with manufacturers and vendors regarding the production of custom 
products and design solutions.
9.7  Assists in the preparation of detailed reports and records for furniture and equipment 
provisioning.
9.8  Manages and updates lists of furniture, equipment, manufacturers, and vendors used by the 
district.
9.9  Consults with manufacturers and vendors on product, specifications, finishes, and pricing
9.10 Coordinates product specifications and purchase orders with District procurement office
9.11 Creates interior drawings and visual aids for review and approval.
9.12 May assist sites in replacement of furniture and equipment.
9.13 Performs other duties as assigned.

10.  Minimum Requirements
Experience:

10.1 Minimum six (6) years full-time paid professional experience conceptualizing, planning, 
selecting, and coordinating interior layouts, interior building finishes, furniture, and equipment 
with the required degree
Education:
10.2 Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree preferably in 
interior design, interior architecture or architecture or any related field.
OR
10.3 Completion of 40 semester units or equivalent from a recognized college or university in 
interior design, architecture of any related field, with an additional 2 years of experience.
Knowledge/Skills:
10.4 Principles of interior design
10.5 Furniture and equipment specification (educational facilities preferable)
10.6 Principles, practices and techniques for space planning
10.7 Strong understanding of color theory principles and its application in Interior Design
10.8 Timeline and budget preparation
10.9 Basic concepts and application of scheduling, procurement, and business data processing
10.10 Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Bluebeam
10.11 Building codes, ADA, fire and life code as they relate to furniture and equipment Principles, 
practices, and techniques of project management
10.12 Professional Interior Design studio practices
10.13 Plan and design interior spaces and specify furniture
10.14 Read and interpret architectural plans, drawings, and specifications
10.15 Operate major computer-aided software systems such as AutoCAD and Revit
10.16 Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
10.17 Create and deliver professional presentations for clients and stakeholders, effectively 
showcasing design concepts and project details
10.18 Work effectively with F+IG staff, facilities personnel, school administrators and staff
10.19 Operate a computer and associated peripheral devices
10.20 Commute to jobsites and facilities, as needed
