About Oath

The Oath group of public benefit companies regenerates life in depleted soil with living, beneficial microorganisms to address some of humanity's biggest challenges, such as climate change, food security, drought stress, and land management.

We imagine a world where these crises are not just alleviated, but reversed, replenishing Earth's microbiomes. By leveraging the latest science-based insights, Oath provides natural soil inoculant solutions that foster a healthier and more sustainable world for future generations.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Business Development will lead Oath’s commercial growth strategy and execution across key North American markets in specialty crops (vegetables, leafy greens, soft fruit, potato), forestry, and grasslands. This role blends strategic vision with scientific and commercial acumen — driving partnerships, trials, and go-to-market efforts that advance regenerative agriculture at scale.

You will be responsible for identifying and securing high-impact opportunities, building relationships across the ecosystem, and shaping how Oath’s microbial technology reaches and transforms the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Market Expansion: Develop and execute a business development strategy that drives revenue growth and market adoption of Oath’s microbial solutions.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify, establish, and nurture partnerships across specialty crops, forestry, and carbon markets to scale Oath Soil Life and integrated carbon offerings.
  • Go-to-Market Networks: Build a robust network of regional and local partners to drive commercialization and field validation.
  • Opportunity Assessment: Conduct market and opportunity analyses to guide Oath’s investment priorities and strategic decisions.
  • Commercial Trial Leadership: Design, coordinate, and analyze nursery and field trials with customers and partners to demonstrate product efficacy and ROI.
  • Scientific-Commercial Bridge: Leverage soil health, microbiome, and sustainability expertise to translate complex science into actionable business opportunities.
  • Client Support & Enablement: Provide technical guidance, training, and ongoing support to customers, partners, and distributors.
  • Pipeline Growth: Identify and pursue potential clients through market research, relationship building, and proactive outreach — maintaining a “hunter” mindset.
  • Performance Reporting: Deliver clear, data-driven reports on market developments, commercial progress, and partnership outcomes.

Core Competencies

  • Deep passion for advancing climate-smart, regenerative agriculture.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to translate vision into execution.
  • Skilled at integrating scientific insight with commercial strategy.
  • Entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented, and impact-driven.
  • Exceptional communicator who can inspire trust and collaboration across disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success building partnerships in complex, multi-stakeholder ecosystems.
  • Culturally fluent and effective working in multinational or multicultural contexts.
  • Embodies Oath’s “Big Three”: Commitment to Impact, Humility, and Talent.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant leadership experience in agribusiness, biologicals, soil science, forestry, or sustainability sectors.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Track record of testing, scaling, and commercializing innovative agricultural or biological products.
  • Proven experience leading market expansion and partnership development.
  • Comfort operating in dynamic, fast-paced, and mission-driven environments.

Compensation

A competitive compensation package, including base salary ($153,000 - $215,000) and equity participation. Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience, location-based cost of living, and demonstrated skills and qualifications.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
