Our Opportunity… 

We are looking for a scientifically curious, flexible, collaborative, and dynamic Co-Op to join our Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) Team in the Technical Operations Department.  You will develop a comprehensive understanding of our Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes (TIL) manufacturing process to support data management and analysis of manufacturing data.  You will develop new manufacturing process monitoring tools, statistical models, and visualizations of our manufacturing process and analytics data for our ongoing clinical studies. You will be part of a highly collaborative team committed to transforming innovative science into meaningful medical breakthroughs for patients, beginning with our lead autologous tumor‑infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy program treating cancer (currently metastatic melanoma and non small cell lung cancer).  

This opportunity is open to graduate students majoring in Bioinformatics preferred; or Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics with a background and interest in Biology.  As an Obsidian Co-op, you’ll have access to mentorship from highly talented and experienced colleagues, and can take advantage of great perks such as free lunch, commuter benefits, and social activities.   

This is an on-site position located at our Cambridge Office (infrequent travel to our Bedford, MA office may also be required).  

You Will… 

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of our TIL manufacturing process to support data management and analysis of manufacturing and analytical data. 
• Gain knowledge in the data management and process control analysis side of MSAT. 
• Develop new manufacturing process monitoring tools, statistical models, and visualizations of our manufacturing process and analytics data for our ongoing clinical studies. 
• Gain experience using a variety of software tools and statistical analysis to provide “live” process performance updates that will be used to perform data-driven decisions. 
• Identify trends, deviations, and potential areas for process improvement. 
• Learn about other functional aspects of MSAT process management of technology transfers and ongoing clinical trials. 
• Broaden your scientific understanding and gain hands on experience with manufacturing processes and related data. 
• Make intellectual and technical contributions to projects, while working on a collaborative team. 

You Bring… 

Core Qualifications 

• Working towards the completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics preferred; or Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics with a background and interest in biology. 
• Experience in data mining, creating data visualizations, and statistical analysis. 
• Experience with data analysis tools such as JMP. 
• Strong mathematic skills. 
• High level of motivation and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. 
• Adaptability, scientific curiosity, and desire to learn new skills. 
• Excellent organizational skill and attention to detail as applied to record-keeping.

Bonus Qualifications 

• Previous Co-Op experience is preferred. 
• Experience in a bioprocessing/manufacturing or cell therapy setting. 

*Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications; candidates with relevant prior co‑op experience and/or critical skills may receive a higher hourly rate.
