Senior Cost Estimator

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Cost Estimator to join our growing team in San Diego, CA. In this role, you will provide highly responsive cost consulting services in one of the firm’s core business lines. Senior Cost Estimator Responsibilities:
Create estimates, studies, analyses, and evaluations, at all levels of project development.
Provide conceptual-level estimates, detailed quantity take-off, change order reviews/reconciliations, and value engineering solutions as necessary
Provide a detailed review of all documentation and develop comprehensive cost estimates/models that communicate client’s project and strategic goals
Ensure a quality product is presented to the client by adhering to QA/QC procedures
Communicate effectively through clear and concise means appropriate to the project goals
Actively research, solicit, and develop sources/vendors for compiling and maintaining accuracy of cost information
Support business development efforts by developing, promoting, and maintaining client relationships through the creation of cost exhibits for proposals, meetings, presentations, etc.
Desired Senior Cost Estimator Experience:
A minimum of 10 years as a cost estimating professional, preferably as a consultant, to include, but not limited to conceptual estimating, take-offs, change order review/reconciliation, value engineering solutions, etc.
Ability to understand and accurately interpret construction documents at all levels of design.
Expert user of industry software for quantity take-off
Advanced Microsoft Excel user and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture preferred

Responsibilities:
Manage field activities to ensure all work is completed according to plan and is executed within the established schedule and budget.
Manage and monitor the project budget and schedule.
Manage the quality and pace of work conducted on-site.
Coordinate, monitor, and distribute client design modifications. Track changes in conjunction with project contingency.
Provide strong document and project controls including monitoring RFI and Submittal traffic for potential cost/schedule impacts.
Thoroughly document, track, and convey all action items and activities via meeting minutes and weekly and monthly project update reports.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years Construction Project Management experience with background in K-12 and/or public works construction projects highly preferred
Ability to successfully pass a thorough background check.
Outstanding leadership and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage challenging, multi-faceted projects.
Well-versed in all construction industry delivery methods.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite software and industry-standard project management software.
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a closely related field preferred
