We’re excited to welcome a Business Developer to our Washington, D.C. regional team! This remote, hybrid position is ideal for someone based in the D.C., Maryland, or Virginia area with A/E/C industry experience who enjoys connecting with clients and building relationships in person when needed. You’ll be a key member of our Business Development team, helping drive growth across OCMI’s core markets through opportunity identification, client engagement, and pursuit strategy support all while collaborating with leadership and technical teams to strengthen OCMI’s presence and uphold our reputation for excellence in construction management.

Responsibilities:
Proactively identify and pursue new project opportunities across federal, education, civic, healthcare, and infrastructure sectors.
Build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, and engineers to secure new work and teaming opportunities.
Lead and support sales and capture plans in collaboration with regional and corporate leadership.
Research and track pursuits, clients, and market trends; maintain data in the firm’s CRM system.
Support proposal efforts and ensure compliance with client requirements and firm standards.
Participate in interview preparation and business development events, representing OCMI with professionalism and integrity.
Collaborate internally to align business development efforts with project delivery and client expectations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent A/E/C experience).
5+ years of business development, marketing, or client-facing experience in the A/E/C industry.
Strong understanding of A/E/C processes and federal contracting environment.
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple pursuits.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign; experience with Deltek VantagePoint or Smartsheet is a plus.

Senior Cost Manager

We're thrilled to welcome a Senior Cost Manager with experience in higher education, healthcare, science and technology, government, and K-12, to join our team! Responsibilities:
Represent the firm to clients, peer organizations, and business associates with the values of OCMI
Be capable of explaining cost deliverables, processes, and justifications in a formal meeting, presentation, or negotiation as the lead OCMI representative.
Provide detailed quantity take-off and preliminary pricing for a variety of construction project types.
Review and interpret construction drawings to understand the overall project scope.
Support development of comprehensive cost estimates/models communicating the client’s project and strategic goals.
Facilitate document control, file management, and project collaboration.
Ensure a quality product is presented to the client by adhering to QA/QC procedures.
Actively research, solicit and develop sources/vendors to compile and maintain the accuracy of cost information.
Communicate effectively through clear and concise means appropriate to the project goals.
Perform life cycle cost analysis, value engineering, and risk analysis tasks.
Mentor, train and oversee a small team of cost estimators.
Participate in business development and marketing initiatives including leading outreach to key, prospective new clients.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years as a cost estimating professional, preferably as a consultant, to include, but not limited to, conceptual estimating, take-offs, change order review/reconciliation, value engineering solutions, etc.
Prior higher education, K-12, healthcare, science and technology, and government estimating experience
Ability to understand and accurately interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications).
Proficient user of On-Screen Takeoff (OST) software or similar quantity takeoff software preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel intermittently for projects and meetings with clients and project site visits.
A bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or architecture, or 2 years of applicable construction trade experience in lieu of a degree, is preferred.
