
Admissions Assistant/Parent Liaison

Summary
The Admissions Assistant/Parent Liaison supports the Admissions Department in all aspects of student enrollment, including the intake and onboarding of new students as well as the re-enrollment of current students. This role plays a vital part in executing admissions-related events, outreach efforts, and follow-up communications with prospective and current families. Additionally, the Admission Assistant/Parent Liaison is responsible for fostering strong family engagement by overseeing the Parent Association, encouraging volunteer participation, and serving as a consistent point of contact for parent-related initiatives. This position is key to building trust, improving family retention, and ensuring a seamless and supportve admissions experience from inquiry to enrollment and beyond.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Admissions Assistant
- Have knowledge of programs and services offered at OCS as well as knowledge of the Chancellor’s regulations for incoming students.
- Call parents to offer spots and have the ability to document every contact attempted day or night and assist parents with the enrollment process.
- Assist in maintaining spreadsheets and generating reports pertaining to applications, lottery, enrollment, discharges, pending discharges, health alerts and court orders.
- Assist with organizing and conducting admissions lottery.
- Request cumulative files and/or IEP packets of incoming students from previous schools.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of cumulative files for new and current students and generating reports from this data as requested
. - Assist with the dissemination of promotional materials to schools, CSE and other organizations.
- Email and call schools, current/enrolled/prospective families; Maintain continuous contact.
- Prepare and send out mass communications throughout the year through phone, email and text.
- Assist in planning recruitment and admissions events. Participation in after-school and weekends events is required.
- Provide support to Admissions Department in regards to recruitment and retention of students.
Parent Liaison
- Serves as a school liaison to Central and Field-based parent support staff.
- Establish Parent Association (PA) Board and work closely with the Board to plan events/activities and ensure success of OCS PA.
- Plan and facilitate 2 Parent Association meetings per month (one onsite and one virtual).
- Increase parent involvement in the school by working closely with all school, parent and community organizations.
- Perform other incidental tasks, duties and responsibilities as needed.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including front desk coverage, training of other team members.
- Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Personnel Handbook.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education and Experience: High School Degree/Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Prior work experience necessary.
- Marketing experience is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
SALARY
$55,000-$75,000
