Security Engineer

To be successful in this role, the security engineer must display an excellent understanding of technology infrastructures such as Firewalls, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy and experience in one or more security domains: application security, cloud security, vulnerability management, SIEM, endpoint security, and/or incident detection and response. Top candidates will be comfortable working with a variety of technologies, security problems, troubleshooting of the network and have experience performing security audits or assessments.
- Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks across a range of technologies.
- Troubleshooting security and network problems.
- Responding to system and/or network security breaches.
- Ensuring that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls, identifying and remediating control gaps.
- Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.
- Participating in the change management process.
- Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization.
- Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards.
Desired experience
- A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification.
- 2+ years of work experience with one or more of application security, cloud security, firewalls, vulnerability management, proxies, SIEM, endpoint security, and/or incident detection and response.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with application security tools including SAST, DAST.
- Proficiency in writing infrastructure as code (IaC) in Terraform and/or Bicep.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, Ruby, Node, Go, and/or Power Shell.
The base pay range for this position in New York is $140,000 - $170,000 annually. Pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity and year-end bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
