Product Designer
Octaura is reimagining the way these markets trade, with efficiency, transparency and simplicity at the heart of what we do. We bring trading capabilities, data and analytics together for the first time on a digitized platform–fundamentally transforming the markets and streamlining workflows like never before.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Product Designer (UX/UI) to join our Product team and lead the ongoing evolution of our loan and CLO trading platforms. In this role, you'll own and expand the design system, improve core workflows, and contribute to the early-stage design of our data analytics platform. You’ll bring strong UX thinking, hands-on UI skills, and a collaborative mindset to a high-impact individual contributor role.
What You’ll Do
• Take ownership of Octaura’s UX/UI design systems, component libraries, and workflow documentation.
• Design high-fidelity and low-fidelity prototypes in Figma for trading interfaces, data visualizations, and analytics dashboards.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, marketers, and other stakeholders across the organization to iterate on design solutions aligned with user and business goals.
• Support and refine current platforms (Loans and CLOs), with a focus on maintaining usability through updates and platform migrations.
• Lead discovery and research initiatives—participating early in the product lifecycle to prototype and test concepts ahead of formal product specs.
• Ensure user-centric design across our trading ecosystem, helping Octaura differentiate through superior usability and experience.
• Contribute to the strategic evolution of design processes and help scale design as Octaura grows.
What We’re Looking For
• You have 4–10 years of experience designing UX/UI for enterprise platforms or complex data applications.
• You’re fluent in Figma, comfortable creating polished prototypes and maintaining shared component libraries.
• You have strong UX instincts—able to break down user workflows, identify friction points, and propose effective solutions.
• You bring solid UI capabilities, especially for complex, data-heavy environments (e.g., grid views, dark themes, visualizations).
• You understand the impact of design on business workflows and system performance.
• You can work independently and drive initiatives forward, but collaborate well across Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams.
• Experience in capital markets or financial technology is a plus—but not a must. Exposure to similarly high-stakes, high-complexity environments (e.g., trading platforms, enterprise SaaS, or analytics tools) is highly valued.
• You’re comfortable engaging in the full product lifecycle, from concept sketches to post-launch refinement.
• Strong communication skills—able to present design decisions and rationale clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
