Senior Paraplanner

Holborn, London

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Paraplanner to help us deliver the next generation of financial advice and join us on a mission to transform 5 million lives, by making high quality financial planning and advice and affordable and accessible to everyone everywhere.

This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious self-starter to accelerate their development by taking a broad and varied senior role, within a rapidly growing company.

About Octopus Money

At Octopus Money, we’re on a mission to make money advice accessible to all – because the right advice can turn your life dreams into reality.

The facts are alarming: half of Brits reach retirement age without enough money to live the life they want, financial stress is a leading cause of poor mental health and only 8% of us have access to 1-to-1 advice.

There’s plenty of information out there, but most of us just wish that someone we trust would tell us what to do with our money!

With Octopus, you get a personalised plan and a friendly expert to help you make it happen. We combine advisers, coaches and technology to understand your situation and recommend the right steps for your savings, investments, pensions and more. Then, we make it easy to invest in a custom portfolio, managed by experts.

We believe everyone deserves personal, 1-to-1 advice with their money.

The role and opportunity

At Octopus Money we help people get control of their money in the way that works best for them - so we deliver both financial coaching and financial advice under one roof. This role is in the advice team but also offers an unparalleled opportunity to apply your skills to solve the advice gap in a whole new way by working alongside a team of financial coaches.

Day to day, the Senior Paraplanner will play a key role in designing, building and improving our advice delivery and processes to ensure we’re providing a world class customer experience. The role has significant potential for progression and the ideal candidate will be someone who prides themselves on delivering the highest quality of financial advice, is highly technical whilst also passionate about improving the systems and processes that sit around financial planning. Leadership experience is a plus, although not essential.

Day to day you will be:

  • Responsible for delivering high quality financial advice to our customers
  • Undertaking cashflow modelling
  • Working on replacement business analysis
  • Responding to technical client queries
  • Designing and refining our processes and ways of working
  • Helping to train, support and manage more junior colleagues and admin support
  • Using your initiative to re-design processes and automate as much as possible.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders across the business to identify issues and opportunities, and execute solutions effectively.

About You

A genuine desire to help people
We are a mission-driven business, so it’s important that you can demonstrate a strong desire to help people and improve their lives.

Collaborative and a great team player

You should be able to digest complexity and develop a plan to move forward, without losing sight of the important details.

Goal driven and not afraid to get stuck in
We like to set ambitious goals and find creative ways to hit them, even if that means rolling up our sleeves and doing manual tasks before we’ve managed to fully automate them. You should have a bias towards action and getting things done.
