
Events Manager
We’re looking for an Events Manager to lead the way we show up in the real world – from major trade conferences to more intimate private dinners. You’ll own and execute our events programme – primarily focused on B2B partnerships – creating standout experiences that raise awareness, build relationships and help us grow.
You’ll report to the Senior B2B Marketing Manager and work closely with our sales, licensing and partnerships teams to bring our brand to life across industry events and our own activations. You’ll be hands-on in planning and execution, but you’ll also shape our events strategy and define what world-class looks like for our stage presence. This is not just logistics – it’s brand building. You’ll care as much about the lighting and the lanyards as you do the lead numbers.

What you’ll do
- Own our full events programme – from flagship conferences and speaking slots to intimate partner events
- Manage every detail of event delivery – including complex logistics, vendor coordination and timelines that leave nothing to chance
- Continuously find smarter, faster and more efficient ways to handle event logistics, minimising duplication and streamlining processes between Octopus teams and businesses
- Create concepts for every live experience that delivers on our business objectives and feels true to our brand
- Work with our creative team to bring every detail to life – from stand design to giveaways
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Set and track success metrics, including attendance, engagement and lead conversion – and iterate based on what works
- Keep your ear to the ground for new opportunities – new formats, new venues, or just new ways to surprise and delight
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of experience in events or experiential marketing – ideally within a B2B start-up environment
- Experience managing budgets and contracts with third-party suppliers
- Strong project management skills – confident juggling multiple events at once and keeping everything (and everyone) on track
- An eye for detail that borders on obsessive – you’ll notice if the t-shirts clash with the tablecloths or if the font on an invite feels off
- A love of creating brilliant experiences, not just ticking boxes – you’re the kind of person who’ll debate the drinks list if it feels off-brand
- Calm under pressure – whether it’s a speaker dropping out or a last-minute tech fail, you don’t flap
In return for your contribution, we offer a base salary of £50,000 - £55,000 DOE + benefits.
Please note, as a regulated business we are required to run background checks for all employees which covers adverse financial and unspent convictions. These will only take place upon a successful job offer.

Flexible working
We currently operate a hybrid model which is a mix of office and remote. You'll have the option of working from home 2 days per week (Monday and Friday) with the remainder from our central London office in Holborn.
