Senior Operations Manager

Holborn, London

🏆 🎉 🏆 We're proud to announce we've won Advice firm of the year at the Money Marketing Awards 🏆 🎉 🏆

Senior Operations Manager - Wealth Planning

We’re looking for a Senior Operations Manager to make every client’s wealth planning journey seamless - ensuring that from the moment they start their advice journey to the day their plan goes live, everything runs like clockwork.

You’ll be the person who makes sure we get it right the first time: ensuring every step of the process is clear, consistent, and built around the client.

This is a hands-on role for someone with deep experience in the end-to-end process of financial advice - from onboarding through suitability, recommendation, fulfilment, and servicing -  and who can apply that knowledge to designing better systems, controls, and client experiences as we scale.

If you’re passionate about operational excellence and client outcomes, this is your opportunity to make a real impact at the heart of Octopus Money.

About Octopus Money

At Octopus Money, we’re on a mission to make money advice accessible to all – because the right advice can turn your life dreams into reality.

The facts are alarming: half of Brits reach retirement age without enough money to live the life they want, financial stress is a leading cause of poor mental health and only 8% of us have access to 1-to-1 advice.

There’s plenty of information out there, but most of us just wish that someone we trust would tell us what to do with our money!

With Octopus, you get a personalised plan and a friendly expert to help you make it happen. We combine advisers, coaches and technology to understand your situation and recommend the right steps for your savings, investments, pensions and more. Then, we make it easy to invest in a custom portfolio, managed by experts.

We believe everyone deserves personal, 1-to-1 advice with their money.

The role and opportunity

You’ll take end-to-end ownership of Wealth Planning operations, ensuring every client gets the same high standard of service and that every process is designed for accuracy, efficiency, and scale.

Working closely with the Head of Advice/COO  and other senior leaders, you’ll spot friction points in the client journey, design solutions, and ensure the changes stick. You’ll champion a “right first time” mindset that reduces rework, shortens turnaround times, and improves client satisfaction.

Day to day you will be:

  • Oversee Wealth planning operations end-to-end, ensuring onboarding, advice fulfilment, and servicing happen seamlessly for clients.
  • Champion the client experience - ensuring processes work first time and any friction is fixed at root cause.
  • Partner with the Head of Advice/COO, and Head of Platform Ops to ensure advice and transactions flow through to completion within SLA.
  • Use data and dashboards to track the client journey, identify delays, and drive improvements in turnaround and service quality.
  • Design and roll out new workflows across our systems (Plannr, Airtable, SECCL and others) that simplify delivery and are adopted by all teams.
  • Develop and deliver an operational improvement roadmap balancing quick wins with longer-term fixes.
  • Lead and embed a continuous improvement culture within the team - capturing ideas, implementing changes, and measuring impact.
  • Oversee case delivery, fulfilment accuracy and reporting, working with advisers and their teams to keep delivery on track and assets landing promptly on platform.
  • Document and update operational processes, supporting training and effective change management.
  • Represent Wealth Planning in cross-functional projects - bringing the voice of the client and operational insight to every new initiative.
